I was wondering if this would be a good choice for a digital camera .
It's really pretty, it has 8.1 MP, touch screen so it doesn't waste space with buttons, 4GB memory .

I've been wanting this camera too!!
It should be very good choice for a camera because of the large 4GB memory and 8.1 megapixels...
so u should get it. =)
I've seen it in Sony stores and also some other electronic stores... but dunno if I should get it because it is quite pricey for me. I'll have to think more about it.

I chose it because I used a Sony Cybershot before and I had a memory card for it already.
If you're in it mainly because of how it looks I would say get it~ I mainly got it because it was cute and compact [I have one in white].
However, if you're more into quality you might reconsider. Not that this has bad quality but its not the best.

Yup, there are some flaws in the pictures but its harder to see if you reszie them and most of the time you probably won't need big prints anyway

Overall its a good camera Stylish and good enough quality. There are some paint functions and little sticker things you can use to decorate your pictures. Hope you decide on a camera Goodluck!

i have it! my mom got it for me for xmas. it's really pretty, but there are better camera's out there. sony mainly goes for looks to reel in the big bucks. the zoom is average, 3x. the video is nice. i went to HB this year, and only used it for fancaming. i used my other camera for pictures since it had like 12x zoom. it's touch screen, very nice touch screen. there's a "paint" function on the camera, i don't use it much, only if i'm really bored. erm, it focuses on ppl's faces, or you can touch the screen to "tell" the camera what you want it to focus on. the slideshow function is pretty cool. and it has 4 GB of internal memory, so you really don't need a memory card. anymore questions, feel free to PM me.
IMO, if you're going for looks and have the $$, get it. if not, then there're prob. better, cheaper cameras out there like nikon or canon

I bought that camera a few days ago. I looooooove it!! the colour is enough to satisfy me. Im huge on colour. all my electronics have to be a pretty colour xD I got the pink. so pretty <3 the white is reallyyyy nice too. its got this sparkle to it. ahhh so pretty. like snow~

its really fun to play with. I like how you can put your focus wherever you want. you can take nice clear close up pictures. detects smiles. you can change the brightness of the pictures without using flash, which I reallyyy like. saves me a lot of time doing no flash pictures on the camera and then going on the computer and changing the lightening.

hmmm what else.. the video seems pretty good. it looks really clear on the camera. Im not sure how it is when you put it on the computer. the sound doesnt seem too good, at least when you listen to it on the camera.
when you zoom in on pictures you've taken seems kinda annoying to me

But for quality wise is Canon > Sony?

it's hard to push the menu buttons to play back photos/videos
the pictures themselves came out better than expected, but canon will win out in low light situations.
video quality is great.
the camera is small, stylish and though the sliding panel is a bit hard to open at first, you get used to it.

Exactly. They pretty much target the consumers who care more about style than functionality. Or the ones who are under the impression that anything with the Sony brand is considered the best.

But for quality wise is Canon > Sony?

Yes. Definitely compare the reviews on Amazon because they'll help a lot with the decision-making

i have this camera in pink..and i bought it coz of it's color.. ^^

the quality is not bad actually but only in daytime...
but at night or somewhere dark... it gets blurr easily and it really annoys me
i can't tak epicture in somewhere dark without flash...

$350 + tax equals around $395..
