then i went to another dealership, we talked, crunched numbers and then i told him i will think about it and that i'll be visiting other vw dealerships.
2 days later i recieved a call from the 2nd dealership i went to, from the sales manager and he told me that they got a deal for me that i wouldn't believe. they took about 2k off invoice, not msrp. i smiled
you gotta tell them that you are very interested in the car but you do have other cars in mind. in my case, I was looking at the (g37, tl-type s, evo x and an is350), and you will only buy it if the right deal comes around. make sure you LEAVE the dealership, don't go in there wanting to get the deal done that same day. the salesman will give you his business card before you head out the door and he will take your phone # down. DO NOT CALL BACK. Make him call you. You will recieve a call from them a couple of days later.
if they see an opening they will grab you by the balls, so don't be in a hurry. you gotta have patience with these people.

cksdayoff got it down right.
honestly, but i've found this VERY interesting...but more of the time, internet sales/phone you can get less vs. going to the dealership itself. on the phone i was able to get my accord for like 22,900 out the door w/ tint, and it was from the internet sales manager vs. going in and talking to some random sales rep guy that wouldnt even budge for 24,000 out the door.
another thing is farther from the city, the better the deals more likely...less people in crowded areas means that dealership needs to grip people by the balls from the city to come out there, get THEIR cars, for alot less. we bought my car and my mom's 4runner from slidell[give or take 30minutes from new orleans] and we got my car 1k less than the cheapest dealership in new orleans and for my mom's 4runner 3k less and a spoiler for no extra cost.
and when you talk, sound serious and mature. act like you know wat ur doing and they will have the mentality that this person knows what he/she wants and if i want their business i gotta comply to what they want.
and take your time, shop around the area and compare quotes [w/ TT&L , out the door] from all the dealerships, tell them dealership a offered me this much, if you want my business can u match it or beat it? the ones that want it, will infact beat it by a few hundred and probably add a few things which is good for you. but make sure u REMEMBER the salesperson's name. DO NOT FORGET. take it down somewhere

I went to the Porsche dealer looking at the Cayman, I told them I had the M3 and C63 in mind, and the M3 is cheaper than the Cayman so he better let me in and test drive it to prove to me its worth the money, I was 19.
He told me Porsche cost that much because its a Porsche, I should just go buy the M3 then. lol
But I got my test drive

Bring cash....Tell them 17k or no deal.
It'll get them fustrated and you'll get it for 17k.
Remember to be annoying, but dont walk away.
They will eventually give in.

by looks of it, iono if they are good prices but u can try over the phone and see if they go for it
XLE- 17,000 out the door looks nice, "invoice is 15,882" on yahoo and after TT&L it'll be over 17000.
4SPD AT S-invoice 15,000...out the door, try for around 16000 maybe 16,500 at high.
thats from just a rough estimate looking based on below invoice :X iono, u MAY be able to get a better deal just shop around but try to calculate the price of the car the cheapest dealership is willing to give you [before tt&l], the cost of TT&L[tax title and license?<---correct me if im wrong. haha its early in the morning]...if your want, find quotes and i bet a bunch of us on the forum can come up with a good "out the door price" for you to try and get.

Walk in with a biggggg envelope of money and they can't say no, help them realize the sale. They work for YOU, NEVER forget YOU are the customer. If you don't like how you are being treated, walk.

- get in touch with the manager, or the internet manager either one. most car dealerships the manager makes a higher commission % then the sales reps..
the sales reps also sell the car, and their manager takes some % too..thats why sales reps tend to sell it higher, so they make more.
so if you can, try to get the talk w/ a manager from a dealership..that way your price will be a bit lower
2/2 for me also, for the 4runner and my new accord...both times the manager gave me lower prices than the reps.

I heard the opposite.. They dont get the kickback from financing..

Bringing the green helps them visualize the sale. Yes, they dont get the $ from financing, however.... lets say you went at the end of the month. They have to meet a quota to get their bonuses..... If I was the sales man, i'd sell to anyone who brings cash that day.
