I'm curious - which internet browser is better? Firefox or Internet Explorer or Opera? I'd like to know, because I want to change my browser to the better one.

Thanks!

Hello, there isn't a strictly better one. If there was, everybody would be using it =). They both have advantages/disadvantages...Firefox is more modifiable you can use custom scripts with it and stuff and IE 7 is more supported across the web....

Here's an idea: try them both out and see for yourself. wink.gif
"But when it ends and while it ends, something comes, after so much rage, persistence, obstinacy, extravagance; something entirely unexpected and touching in its mildness and goodness. With the motif passed through many vicissitudes, which takes leave and so doing becomes itself entirely leave-taking, a parting wave and call, with this D G G occurs a slight change, it experiences a small melodic expansion. After an introductory C, it puts a C sharp before the D. . .and this added C Sharp is the most moving, consolatory, pathetically reconciling thing in the world. It is like having one's hair or cheek stroked, lovingly, understandingly, like a deep and silent farewell look. . . . " (Mann: 55).

Definitely Firefox. I used to have doubts about it but it's way more secure than IE and unlike IE, firefox doesn't require any verification with Microsoft. So personal information regarding your Windows system stays safe. But security is only one of the reasons why I switched. It's a good experience over all and the whole set up is more intuitive. I can't compare the features because I haven't tried IE 7 but Mozilla outstrips the other versions of IE.

Hope this helps.

Internet Explorer...old school and comfortable.

Firefox is wayyy to slow to open.
Why do I always break the sig rules with Changmin pictures?

Maybe it's because he's too...

Thats not actually true. IE 7 essentially is inferior in almost every way. The only reason why IE7 is more used, is because it comes inbuilt with Windows as of such the average user dont know better of better alternatives. And as for web compatability, while its true IE 7 supports more sites - thats mainly because these sites arent coded and designed within the web compliance standards. Sites that do have no problem what so ever. (more than 99% of sites out there)

Honestly if you value your sanity in computer maintainence, i recommend you to switch (either firefox or opera) over IE... and fast. IE is so buggy, and prone to virus / spyware / maleware attacks due to the way it is coded (ActiveX) it aint even funny. i would ONLY ever recommend IE, ifyou need to access a certain site (say clubbox) otherwise i emplore you to switch. definately switch. switch NOW.

I personally use Opera, because i love the speed and the fact that firefox is quite a resource hog (slowing down the computer(... though ill be switching back to firefox once the beta for version 3 becomes final as i hear they fixed those memory leak problems, just my two cent.

i recently dled firefox and so far, i'm liking it extremely more than IE! it's not as laggy and like what TyneeTom said, when you try to open multiple tabs in IE, it lags like a motherload and it sometimes freezes and you lose all your sites! >.<

Firefox.
Definitely.
Don't bother with IE. Waste of time.
I only have it in case the site works better in IE.

I just use IE for clubbox. But if you don't wanna open IE, you can just download a plug-in for firefox that can switch to IE. ;]

I want to use FireFox as my main browser, but I just can't. =/
A lot of Korean sites don't load correctly on FireFox and a lot of things just don't work properly on it, so I just give up and use IE.

I adore FF, I do, but seriously, WHAT IS WITH IT TAKING LIKE 15SECS TO SAVE ONE PICTURE TO MY HARD DRIVE. SERIOUSLY. so whenever I see a lot of pics I want to save I open up IE, copy&paste the link and then save everything there.
