So... I finally declared my major at CCSF so that I could receive my financial aid.. And I want to major in Interior Design.. But I was looking at the list of majors and no where does it say "Interior Design". There's nothing under Art and there's no Design major with an emphasis on Interior Design.

I put Architecture & Design, other as my major instead.

MY question is... Can I just take the classes for Interior Design then change my major once I transfer? I do hope to minor or double major in Architecture but I feel pushed more towards I.D. So can I just take those classes and finish the rest at the 4 year school? =DDD

yar yar yar. No one's ever really helped me with this college stuff and I really do need to meet with my counselor again.... soooo yea.

help? blink.gif

Hey, I'm in the same exact situation but reversed! I declared my major as interior design but I really want to do Architecture instead. Or both, if I could.
Sorry, this didn't help you at all. sweatingbullets.gif

When you're transferring from a community college to a 4-year university, what you declared as your major at the CC doesn't matter since you declare a major at the school you're transferring to when you apply. The major you're under at the CC is basically just a field that you fill out. From working at the A&R Office at Skyline, pretty close to CCSF, we get a ton of people applying for degrees, and the degrees they're applying for are not what they declared when they started out.

When I was at Skyline, my declared major is Business Management, but when I applied to transfer, I applied as Business Economics, Business Administration, and Managerial Economics (at UCLA&UCI, UCB, UCD). Next year at UCLA, I'll be in the Business Economics major, which will be different from my Business Management one at Skyline.

Wow awesome, interior design and architecture is an amazing major to go into. I kno people that are in that major and I'm sure ur credits will transfer depending on what school u transfer to though. 'Cause at my college (university of cincinnati), the art school (DAAP) doesn't really accept many tranfer credits, they prefer u took it with them. But thats just my school being complicated because they are arrogant-- they can be though. Our interior design program is ranked #1 in the nation and our Architecture program is ranked #1 in the nation. It is SO hard to get into these programs here.

I was thinking of applying at UC for next year. How do you like it? I want to talk to somebody who goes or went to UC before. So if you can please put some input in smile.gif
I also maybe trying to get into the DAAP program too. Its very hard to get into. THey look at more of your grades versus your high scored portfolio. haha. Its very tiring process from all my friends that got in.

Interior Designing ...
What is it that you all do? Like Designing rooms and furniture stuff? sorry I don't know much about it. enlighten me! smile.gif

I'm planning on going to UC (DAAP) too for Industrial design, ranked #2 nationwide after Art Center ;].
Sorry for going off-topic xD.

Hi everyone - I work for pointclickhome.com, the website for Elle Decor, Metropolitan Home, etc. We have this really cool widget that lets you design rooms and share them with others. I wanted to get out to people who love design. If you like it, do you mind posting it to you myspace, facebook, and blogs? And passing it on to your friends? I really really appreciate it!

Check it out. www.clearspring.com/widgets/489878cc47b5ca0b
