I'm sure most people won't deny that there's been kind of a lacking in real hip-hop with a real meaning behind the lyrics.

Anybody familiar with Flobots?
They're a political hip-hop group from Denver. These guys seriously rock. A lot of people have probably heard their song "Handlebars". I didn't fully get the song, though, until I saw the music video. It's really great, such a powerful message.
Some of the things they write about remind me of Rage Against the Machine, though Flobots' style is way different.

Speaking of style, their's is really.... just awesome. They use instruments like electric viola and different brass instruments and more... Really sweet stuff.

Flobots - Handlebars (MV)
(This really is a must-watch)

Ahh, I first heard this song on a friend's myspace.

I thought it was really funky, but I love it.
I love the beat, it's different.

Mm, a message eh? o_o
Ima watch the mv now.

Communist undertones hmmm i like, a change of pace from the militant ish i usually vibe to.

These guys are obviously anti capitalist, and their poking fun at how big business works good stuff.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of press. It is the Soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer who gives us freedom to demonstrate. It is the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and who's coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.
Hooah!

i heard handlebars while waiting to pick up my sister from school.

it really is a powerful song, and unlike rage, im glad they stayed more bitter and angry than just angry :x

dont get me wrong, i like rage, but flobots just has a little more class.

i havent seen the video yet, but thinking of it reminded me of NATIONAL DISGRACE by atmosphere :]

Took me a while to understand the song, but I like their style and the strong message they're trying to convey. Wonderful music video too.
Can't wait to hear more from them.
