hiiiiii i have a vodafone 903sh :

ok here's the problem. I have verizon razr right now, but it sometimes crashes on me (like the screen is just lines or something) so i'm going to use my friend's vodafone (i live in USA). ok so i have verizon, but i know i need a sim card.

so my question is,

does verizon have a sim card i could use to just put it in the phone ? or do i have to switch cell providers?

^If I'm not mistaken, I might be wrong on this but I don't think Verizon phones
can use SIM cards. I think you have to call Verizon and ask them
to activate your phone. They only take some phones. Verizon kinda sucks.

Cingular / AT&T in fact does have SIM chips. smile.gif Verizon is tied to each phone.

Yep Verizon is the one company that doesn't support SIM cards....they are clever in that you have to buy their phones only or CDMA types.

Sprint phones and all its related (Nextel, Helio, Virgin mobile) also uses CDMA network which wont work with all those neat phones tears.gif

Your best bet is T-mobile. Most phones have the 1900 band of T-mobile but not all have the 850 band of AT&T.

The only reason I'm using Cingular/AT&T is because it supports sim cards hahah

Those are the same company. ._. T-mobile and AT&T are the only ones that have sim cards as said in the Cellphone frequently asked questions

Unlocked Phones
Which carrier can I use with an unlocked phone?
- In America, T-Mobile and AT&T.
- In Canada, Rogers and Fido.
- In Europe, T-mobile and Vodafone, and O2. I actually think all carriers in Europe use GSM, but I'm not 100% sure.

What is an unlocked phone?
It's a phone that can be used on any carrier that use GSM bands and SIM cards.

What are SIM cards?
SIM cards are the little cards that are in the back of your phone. Take the battery cover off then the battery off and you should see a white card, or different color depending on carrier. Here's a picture for visual purposes.

Will "this" unlocked phone work with my carrier?
It depends on the carrier. Each carrier uses different bands, in America anyways. I'm sure carriers in other countries use the same band. If you don't know which band your carrier uses. Simply ask them or google.

So many questions could be answered in this thread if people actually read the FAQ's. ._.
