first time posting smile.gif
i'm mostly a silent reader and all my problems are usually already covered
but i didn't see a thread about this soo yea

um so you know how when you trip and fall on concrete ground or whatever, you graze your knees? the skin gets ripped off the surface and you bleed and get a scab and then the scab falls off. idk if this is just me or happens to other people too, but after the scab is gone, it leaves this large dark patch on my skin. it's like a brown color that is a shade darker than my usual skin color, and it won't go away.. i've had 2 or 3 of these brown patches for like half a year to a year now. the texture of the patches is also a bit rougher and kind of wrinkly and bumpy.. hahah ew i know

so i was wondering.. how the heck do you get rid of these scars/patches on your knees?? i know it isn't a big deal, but it's just that they get pretty annoying to touch and to look at ><

I have that too... actually I fell twice on the same knee, so itīs like two scars, one over the older one T_T

I canīt get rid of it either because I think they didnīt clean it enough before they put the bandage over so it looks like some dirt is stuck there... thereīs a faint grayish tone in that area >_< The first time I felt was like 10 years ago and the 2nd was like 3-4 years, so I know the scar isnīt going anywhere.

I cover it with makeup, specially with concealer (the kind youīd use for dark circles under your eyes) and it makes a difference. Itīs not like it looks like it wasnīt there, you can still see the colorīs a bit changed in that area (Iīm super pale so that doesnīt help either), but itīs the best thing I could come up with, and takes me just a couple of seconds to conceal it.

I suppose you could do that and also try scar removing methods while at home (but if your case is like mine, the scar removing methods wonīt work, cos I used them the 1st time I felt and the scar faded a lot but you could still see something was under >_< ).

Hope it helps.

hmm i looked up bio oil online
it doesn't seem very expensive, so i might get it sometime if the scars don't disappear anytime soon = =;

thanks for the help^^
my skin actually isn't very pale, kinda tan, so the patches probably aren't as visible as yours
lol i'll try the concealer thing though
the thing is, i just want them GONE like they never existed. covering up can work, but the fact is, those stupid scars are still there at the end of the day..

always put lotion on your skin it can make the scars lighter. Or you can go to the dermatologists and get it lazered. unsure.gif

Try using cocoa butter..women use them to get rid of stretch marks and stuff so I'm guessing maybe prolonged use would also lighten or shrink scars smile.gif
