soo umm i got my period the summer of...6th or 7th grade? something like that.
up until now (im in tenth right now) my periods been regular, one week per month.

but this year during one month, i've had my period for four weeks straight sleep.gif
i had it for a week, then it stopped, few days later it started again until the month ended.
the only thing was that it was unusually light those four weeks

then a few months past and once again its one week per month

then i had it for three weeks another month =/

then few months its normal

and nowwww, im on my fourth week =(
it was light for three weeks straight and a few days later i got it again

is this normal becuase its irregular? or is it abnormal and i need to see a doctor?

i told my mom and she told me to not eat so much cold food sleep.gif

I really don't know, the longest period I ever had was 1 week and it would stop until the next month came. If your really concern you should see a doctor to be sure everything is o.k

I don't know that is pretty weird. I have the opposite problem. Ever since i first got it in like the 4th/5th grade, I've always had it for four days now it's 3 days - light. Try waiting a little longer to see how the other months turn out, if it continues I suggest for you to see someone.

that is abnormal and you should see your doctor about that. it could be due to a hormone problem. my friend had it and it caused her anemia. it also caused her to faint a couple of times in school. her doctor put her on birth control to regulate her period. sorry to tell you but dont listen to your mom and go see a doctor.

actually, it's pretty "normal" at your age since you're still developing. it's nothing to worry about UNLESS it's extremely heavy and you're getting dizzy because of it. it is hella annoying though if it stays for a longg time.

btw, this is assuming you're pretty healthy.

lol don't listen to your mom. my mom said it's because of what i eat, but the doctor said it's all about your hormones. pretty sure it's something about your hormones trying to balance out (you can look it up, i don't really remember, haha)

you can go to the doctor so they can give you birth control pills or some other medication :)

Hey your exactly like me!
My longest one was about 24-26 days long.
I got so fed up with it I just went on the pill.

But it could be because you inherited it from someone's side of the family.
(I know I did ><)

I would go see a doctor so they could recommend something.
(I bet they're going to tell you your long periods are because of stress) lol.

The longest period I've had is like..10 days. Right now though, I'm missing months, and I got my first period a few years ago. Is this normal? O_o Isn't it meant to be every month? I haven't really told my mum or anyone about it though. Is there something wrong with that?

You may drop more eggs then others? ["*Cough* twins! *Cough*"]

My mom had and has the same problem today. She's been skipping periods my whole life. When she was younger she had this.

[Just asked] She said go to the Doctor and have them stop it. Thats what she had done. She says you may get sick, and that its not a good thing. She had twins btw. GOOD LUCK!

@lananhcali18: Short periods mean a lot of things. 1. Your thin; or Not eating well [irregular food intake, (As in Loosing weight and gain it back)] . "Track and field runners and people that work out a lot loose there periods all together." Its got a lot to do with fat sometimes. Correct me if I am wrong, but a fatter/obese child will start she period before her thin counter part. Another reason. "Your young" =P And your just starting out, then it should lengthen with time. Oh and another thing If your on the pill that could shorten it up a bite too! =P If your scared thou. You should consult a doctor too!!. XD

i'd say it's just your hormones because they're still acting up even at this time
and plus! not everyone has a week-long period, it sometimes differs with every girl
i had a friend who only had her period for three days but maybe yours is also different which lasts 4 weeks >_>;
aw i'm really sorry about that

Wow. Longest I've had was 2 weeks.

I think it's called menhorragia or something like that. ^^; I researched it a while ago and symptoms include bleeding for an abnormally long period of time. It'd eventually lead to loss of iron due to excessive blood loss.

But then, I could be wrong. I think it's best to ask your doc. Your hormones probably just went crazy.

Criticism does not equal bashing.
