Well you see, I always believe that the guy should be older, or taller, or whatever. But now that I met this other guy...who happens to be younger...I've never met anyone more perfect. He's sweet and outgoing, but very reserved. I guess he's only perfect in my eyes. He's very genuine and he has a lot of patience with me when I don't deserve it. Age...it does matter when we're younger...but if someone really means something to you, you can't let it get in the way. And, reading all these posts, I've decided that, it really doesn't matter, and with that, I'ma go try to see how he feels. Age shouldn't matter at all. If you find something great in someone, don't let it go just because you're afraid of what people may say.

But you should have limits. For me, I'd say 4 years ? Okay, I said that cos I've been having feelings for this guy who's 4 years older than me LOL Looks bad ? yes ! 16 and 20 ?! o_____O" But if you think about it, when you're older, it's not even bad, pretty much normal=)
Oh wells, I'm too immature for him, as he says LOL damn =P

i don't think ages matter.
most of the guys i dated were a year or less younger than me, it didn't feel any difference than dating a guy older than me.

My ex and I had this conversation once.
I was 16 and he was 20.
He told me "Age is just a number." It didn't matter, it's all about the 2 person in the relationship. If they chemistry towards each other, then that's all the matters.
To me, I don't think age really matters, since I've been in a relationship where our age difference is quite apart.
But then again, I have my limits.
I guess it's just based upon everyone's opinions; everyone has their own points of views on this certain topic.

I would date a guy preferably 3-7 years older than me... I like mature guys...
And there's this uhm..one guy, actually he's our history teacher. He's 23 years old and I'm turning 16.
Even though he tries to look very professional and high in class, I sometimes caught him staring at me in class.
My classmates often tease me about him having a little crush towards me, and I quite believe because of my own observations. There's even a time that I got a very low score in our periodical exam in history, but when I checked on my card, my history grade surprisingly increased a lot. I know I didn't deserve it.
And there's also one time after a quiz, he lets those who failed to stand up and I was one of them. Then all of a sudden, he declared to not record our scores due to the fact that majority in our class got failed. But a part of my instinct think it was because of me. He rarely do such things. He's even one of the most intelligent an respected teachers in our school so doing such things was very unusual. Oh well, even though he passed of being a 7 years older than me, he's still so not my type. He's quite arrogant and bossy. I noticed that large age differences matter a lot when you're younger if you think about it, a 16 year old girl dating a 19/20 year old guy and everyone acts like it's the end of the world.

I think the older person should only be about 1.2x the age of the younger person max. For example, a 12-year-old and a 14.5-year-old could go out and it would be okay. Or 20 and 24. And so on and so forth. But if it's like 20 and 40, it's just a bit weird, in my opinion. And I think it goes without saying that it is not okay for a 12-year-old to date a 70-year-old or something among those lines. .______."

im 16 and my boyfriend is 19 so i guess age plays a factor. i know his friends always tease him about him being a pedophile and stuffs.. but we love each other so it never gets pass us. our parents were okay with us dating until they found out im a minor or he was 19 or vice versa. so we're not allowed to see each other but we do anyways.. secretly

No age does not matter, maturity is what matters and a willingness to work together as a unit. But, I must say Asian has a big, big problem with age, so this thread should be addressed to them.

to me, it does. i would never date someone who is more than two years older/younger than me below the age of 18. the gap could be bigger for me if we were like in our twenties.

If you're like twenty, you wouldn't date somebody that's ten, right ?
Like if you were thirty, it'd probably be okay if you dated somebody that's twenty .

I have an age limitations when it comes in a serious relationship. I woudn't mind if my suitor is a 2 years older than me. Actually I had a 2 ex boyfriend's that is 4 years younger than me. They courted me because they said that I don't look older than them and I'm sweet. The problem is they're immatured. Haha!
