The nature of this optical illusion is to paint a grey scale image using only your eyes.

Below is Lieutenant John Bortniak out for a stroll at the South Pole.

Focus on his nose in the center for 10 seconds (when it has the funny colour) then after it will swap to the grey scale image, but you will see the original image with colour.

The photo blinks to a black and white image for 1 second after 10 seconds of that colour yu see....and during that one second yu see colour in the grayscale image

OH i get it. You stare at the picture with the weird colours. It will change to a black and white picture, but you will actually see it with colour instead of black and white.
