Hello~ What with the gas prices soaring sky high these days, I was thinking of getting a scooter for daily driving, since my university is fairly close to my apartment. I would only be driving it locally, not on highways (unless I want a death wish laugh.gif).

So I was wondering if I had to get a separate license, because I heard that for 50cc scooters, you can just use your normal driver's license (for regular automobiles)? I live in California, if that helps at all. Actually I looked at DMV's website just now and I think I do have to get a separate M1/M2 license, which is a pain in the butt... And what scooter would you guys recommend, if you can? I've been looking at Yamaha's Vino Classic but I know absolutely nothing about scooters...

Here's a picture of the Vino Classic:

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! laugh.gif

I think you only need a license if it's over a certain amount of HP, well that's what the news said.

how about a bike. Sometimes bikes arrive faster than cars when going somewhere close with traffic.

EDIT not motorcycle

^Well, the area around my school is pretty hilly, so biking is kind of difficult... I'd rather just spend more money on gas and drive my car than ride a bike sweatingbullets.gif
