Apparently this car converts water into hydrogen which then powers the car. October launch as well.

if it converts the water to hydrogen to use
its not really "creating" fuel.......

well as we all know that matter is not created nor destroyed, i dont see how a car would 'create' fuel otherwise..

If hydrogen is fuel for the car, I would assume it is safe to say it is. I can't believe technology like this is being available so soon.

the technology is old

its just that the big car companies have been blocking it for decades

also its pretty expensive to implement. that car is going to cost heaps -- with reliability issues too.

I care too much....

I believe BMW already manufactures a hydrogen car, although you need to be an A list celebrity or someone like that to obtain one.

It still burns petrol(gas) at a constant mix, which means it can't run if there's insufficient of either one of the elements.

The real hydrogen car is the Honda FCX
It's clean and emits water clean enough for you to drink. The downside is, this thing cost $1,000,000. wink.gif

You will always lose energy as heat and noise. Therefore, you still need to fill up.

t'is true... but i think the whole regenerating system serves for increased efficiency as opposed to having 100% renewable energy. whole idea behind the car is that it uses an alternative fuel source, which can be assumed its quite cheaper than gasoline.

technically it's not cheaper then gas nor is it actually saving the environment.... since if the car creates the hydrogen it probably comes from electrolysis... which requires electricity. The electricty comes from some plant somewhere which in the end. Also it uses alot of this electricity, it'll take a lot of research for the efficiency of this fuel source to reach it's maximum potential.

There are full hydrogen cars out already cept the plants that create the hydrogen emits toxins into the environment. Which really kills the point of having a green vehicle.

There are kits you can buy to implement into your own vehicle. Basically its a bottle with water and a cathode and anode and a catalyst. This creates Hydrogen gas which mixes in with the air/gas mixture in the cylinder of the engine. This in turn burns the gas better and hence better mpg.

Some other cool "green" vehicles:

this has 4 seperate electric engines in each of the wheels. But works the same as other electric cars.

fugly as hell (looks like something designed by dodge) but really good handling and mpg.

luxury hybrid...
