Floppy Disk Wont Open!

ok so im like, trying to open my floppy disk. it says it needs to be format, but then i tried to format it, it says "formatting will erase ALL data from the disk" ... is there a way to get my document out of the floppy disk? or, what is wrong. help?

most likely its gone... I have not had much luck with floppies being reliable I lost a whole project before x_x I suppose you can try those restore programs such as Recover My Files they have a demo that lets it scan but I doubt it...

Then consider buying a USB flash drive... they are cheap these days

thank you awdark! yea my niece's school project is in there. if i can't get it out of there then i am DEAD. i HAD a flash drive but i lost it so i gave her a floppy disk. sucks. thanks i'll try that !! =] T_T

I hope theres a second copy, you should have them email it to you. Small files are good for emailing..
