summary:
The main plot follows the adventures of Maximum Ride, more widely known as Max, and her group of human-avian hybrids (known as the flock), who have been the subjects of experiments leaving them 98% human and 2% bird. The flock is constantly being hunted down by Erasers, human-lupine (wolf) hybrids, that were also created at the School, a secret facility in Death Valley, California, "where a bunch of mad scientists fool around with gene splicing and other complex sciences." Upon leaving the School, they settle down in a house in the mountains. After being discovered by the Erasers, Angel, the youngest of the flock, is kidnapped by them. The rest of the flock sets out on a action-packed adventure to get her back. While they try to get Angel back, Max finds out that she is suppose to save the world...but how?

My opinion:
i love this series, cause it's fast-pace and humorous. Really good. Even though it's about them running away from 'erasers' and they are half-birds, cause from scientific experiments, it's not a dark theme.

Have anybody ever read this series? It's really good!

Anyways, i created this topic, hoping to talk about it to other people who have read it and hear their opinions.
people who haven't read it are free to ask questions and i'll try to answer them. but i'm not going to spoil the book for you. it's a really good series, and you should try it for yourselves.

and to you movie-lover or manga-lover:

Maximum Ride is going to be a movie. Producer will be Avi Arad, one of the producers from X-Men, Spider Man, and other Marvel movies.

Also, maximum ride is also becoming a manga. Illustrated by Narae Lee and licensed by Yen Press.

OMG. I fell in LOVE with this series after reading it.
I never read the fourth book, but I'm waiting until my library
gets it. But wow, I never knew that.
It's freaken cool. All the scenes and everything is great.
I especially love Fang. He's so cool.

i've only read school's out
but i have to say i love james patterson books and the characters are well developed.
they have a lot of personality and it was a fun book. i would like to read the complete series though.

and true, the fourth book wasn't all that great.
and there were less pages.
here's what it said on the wikipedia:
There was a campaign made by James Patterson on Maximumride.com to have users "Click" their way to help the "Flock." If there were 1,000,000 clicks, the series would continue. The 1,000,000 clicks were made, and the fourth book of the series was announced.
so i guess James Patterson wasn't planning on having another book for the series???
so maybe that's why the fourth book wasn't so great.
having that said, i don't know if there would be a 5th book.
but i hope it does. (i wanna see something between fang and max!)

I actually hated the first book when i first skimmed through it. When I gave it another chance i realized Max was a girl and I actually read it!

I reallly liked the first book even though it was a bit childish (Hehe I like the idea of kids have bum-kicking abilities that they have to keep secret from the world) The second one was pretty good but when the third came out I wondered if it was a joke. Too many plot holes!! I think James Patterson kind of went everywhere and made it silly.

I didn't even give the fourth a chance because wth!? a whole book on global warming

anyways....the first chapter of the manga MAXIMUM RIDE has come out on YEN PRESS!!!! It is in their magazine, along with other manga/manhwas!!!!!!
i have it and read it!!!!! the art is pretty good though i have to say, Max doesn't look.... like, beautiful or something. she is, in her own way....argh, she looks okay but the others look better. sorry....
but anyways, i can't wait for more!!!!! >_<

the storyline sounds kinda.. but i'll give it a try as long as it's nothing like stephenie meyer's twilight. i've heard that James Patterson is a pretty good writer though, but i've never read his books.

i've read twilght too, all 4 books.
i still like maximum ride better.
the books have a lot of twists and turns, making you don't want to stop reading at all. i know. cause that happened to me.
although really, the 4th book, wasn't really all that great. the 1, 2, and 3rd book were very good.

I LOVEEE this series. The characters are great, and the plot is really interesting with all the twists and the turns. It's a nice thrill, too. I've read the first three books, but I haven't tried the fourth one. It's a great, fun read.
