Anyway,
I have an HP DVD drive (I think it's dvd300i?), and it worked fine... but recently, it hasn't been reading CDs nor has it been able to burn any videos!

Occasionally, it will burn or read but I'd have to eject/insert, eject/insert, like a billion times.

I google'd & readjusting the silver wire doesn't work. There was a "play w/ the driver" idea but I don't know which driver belonged to my DVD drive. mellow.gif

(*whines* Awdark... it's 3:20am and you're not answering your phone LOL and I can't sleep and I'm trying to install Warcraft and it's not working and... blahhhhhhhhh T__________T)

lol mellow.gif think you have the number right? I didn't get any texts! sweatingbullets.gif

Pretty much the only thing you can try is to go to the Device Manager and uninstall the drive... then restart the computer to let windows re-install the driver.

Drives do get dirty and most do eventually fail so.. its possible you need to get a new one.

Have you tried just copying the files into the computer then doing the install?

Haha, no... the drive won't even read the CD (I put it in and the icon changes from DVD drive to CD drive, but when I open it, it's empty) so I can't install laugh.gif

Thanks!
And yes I have the number right... .________.;;

Does it read any disks? if not you should just uninstall the drive and let it reintall when you restart. It fixes an amazing amount of drive issues
