If you mean the falling or tripping feeling, I get them too.
It's like you thought you fell down so you open your eyes.

I heard it happens when your soul went into your body too abruptly and caused the jerk.
Everybody's soul leaves the body somehow or another when we're asleep.

But I don't know any 'scientific' explanation behind that.. since this is in the health & fitness section.

OMG YEAH!!! it rarely happens but ive experienced it beofre. i only get that feeling when im like half sleeping, not fully asleep right when im about to fall asleep that feeling comes -.- and i just jerk

I remember a dream where this person sprayed something in the air, i was trapped and i like stopped breathing(in the dream...i think) and then i told myself to wake up(earlier in the dream, i already realised that its a dream but i didn't want to stop dreaming so i kept sleeping lol). when i woke up, i look took a deep breath of air. i really felt as if i couldn't breath in my dream. quite scary.

I don't think I was in that deep of sleep but I was dreaming where i trip over something, and i wake up, but I find myself like trying to stop my fall when I'm waking up, but I'm not falling. One of the weirdest feelings
