I have a problem. I have excessive danduff and flakes like mad which is kinda gross so I thought it would be related to health. What contibutes to danduff? I take good care of my hair; wash it once every two days, conditioner, brush/comb, etc! I've tried head & shoulder, salsen blue, herbal...etc
I don't know how to treat it! T____T Bugs the mothers outta meeee! help?
Sorry if you don't think this is related to health T_T

your scalp is too dry.
Are you taking any pills that
dries your skin?
Hmm if possible, you
should leave "Head and Shoulders"
longer in your hair.
Like when you get in the shower,
scrub it deep into your hair,
into your scalp
SCRATCH SCRATCH and
leave it in there the whole time
you are in the shower and
rinse it off LAST.
"Head and Shoulders" definitely
should eliminate dandruff, so
if that doesn't work then...
maybe a doctor can help?

I'm JUST like you. Head and Shoulders didn't work for me too! Neither did Selsun, or Herbal Essences, or Garnier...
One that DOES work for me is Redken. You can only buy it in salons, though, so it's more expensive... But it's the only shampoo that doesn't make my dandruff worse... I would say give that a try, and if it doesn't work, I don't know, see a doctor maybe?
Is your dandruff worse right after you wash your hair, like the morning after? 'Cause mine always is. X___X

Also, Head & Shoulders should work, but it doesn't for me. Oddly enough, when I was a kid, I used to get dandruff from always wearing a hat that had no 'air holes.'
Try using a shampoo called Dermarest Psoriasis. It's a medicated shampoo & conditioner that's supposed to stop scalp itch and build-up problems. It did work for me one time, but you have to keep it on for a while. Also, remember to eat your veggies.

but nizoral did. they are kinda pricy but you use it only 1-2 a week. It basically cleared it. I used a tiny 9 dollar bottle for the entire semester so.. not that bad of an investment.
I dunno it surprised me because none of the above worked and.. this instantly cleared it.

Or you can just rub your scalp (with the tip of your fingers) with shampoo for 3 minutes, that'll rub the dry skin off of your scalp.

Hey!
I'm not taking any pills to dry my skin! no way! thats scary >_<
I will try that! Thankyou!
^I wouldn't say Head and Shoulder DEFINITELY should... everyone is different, and their skin reacts differently to certain shampoos/conditioners...

My dad has really bad head dandruff that he has to take prescribed medicine. Maybe you can
ask your doctor what shampoo they prescribe for it? But for me I find it that you should shower
every other day. Like first day shower shampoo- next day shower and wash your hair with water.
Then the next day repeat the two days over again (: it works for me; but I don't know about you.

They used the head and shoulders and it workd [;
Maybe you should give it a try too or something ... oh and maybe you shouldn't over wash your hair or put too much chemicals in it.

You can get nizoral prob at wal mart and stuff (that's where i grabbed my bottle)
however if H&S stopped working for you all the sudden you might want to see a doctor. because i read this on makeupalley about nizoral about a pretty similar situation
Eventually I went off this shampoo completely, but months later experienced flaking once again. I tried going back on Nizoral but it didn't do anything, and I thought the shampoo had stopped working. I saw a doctor and it turns out that I don't suffer from SD anymore, it's actually psoriasis of the scalp, and Nizoral was prolonging the condition by being so drying and irritating to the skin.
if head and shoulders stopped working for you all the sudden you might have something o.O
but otherwise nizoral should do the trick if its just flaking. He says its harsh but trust me you don't use it that often after 3 weeks or so (once a week ish)

For me I use Head and shoulder one week then nutregena T-gel the next week and after that Nizoral. Every week I switched it and after a month my dandruff was gone. I continue to use it but I don't have to as much anymore.
