becasue my computer was reformatted and most of the songs are gone.

Syncying, ipod to computer?

i dont personally own an ipod, but i heard from my friends that ipod locks the songs and prevents transferring back to a computer....
if there isnt such a lock, just copy and paste. if the files are in some weird file format, then you'll have to convert it

I think you can, but you would need some sort of program.

go into itunes enable disk mode for your ipod
go into your ipod in explorer and then enable viewing of hidden folders
go into ipod_control.. i think the thing with control in it's name
look for music or songs or something like that
go in
copy whatever you want
paste
