I've been ah, "dedicating" myself to fixing my posture since it's really, pretty bad right now.

And guess what... TABLES ARE TOO SHORT FOR ME.

I spend 8 hours a day at school, 6 of which require me to sit at a table and do schoolwork. If I straighten my back against the back of my seat, I can't read a thing. -o- The only way I get it done is to SLOUCH.

Then I get back aches and what not. So I was wondering, if anybody found a solution to this? I mean, I can't be the ONLY one to experience this, can I? sleep.gif

I was thinking of making a thread about this! My posture is horrible right now because I'm on my computer so often. When I was younger I had perfect posture and people would often comment about it, so I was proud of it... it was just something I had to work on and then it became habit.

So just keep straight up, and eventually it'll become habit.

If your eyesight is the problem you should get glasses or contacts.

get a shorter chair XD

haha, i don't know, I just tend to lean forward a little but trying to keep my back straight at the same time.

My mum told me if you keep your back straight, it'll give you an awesome waist or something, who knows...

Straighten your back and lean forward. Don't hunch and round over.

Is that how girls get that line across their stomach? I never understood that.

I have the same problem...especially when I'm studying ><
If I sit too long my back starts to hurt.
I guess you should try to remember always to sit up straight and lean your back, back onto the chair.

Dude I have horrible posture too. It's been that way since I was young....and it really kills my self confidence. I've been told that I slouch when I stand and walk. -______-x

It's nearly impossible for me to fix it now.

You have a long torso, don't you?
It's hard to straighten your posture because the muscles in your body aren't used to being in that position. At home, use this bouncy ball chair. A mentor told me it helps his muscles acquaint to the right posture because you can't possibly slouch on that chair. It has no back rest.

When sitting, sit straight up and if you have to bend over to do work, don't slouch, lean into the table.
When walking, pretend there is a heavy book on top of your head and you don't want it to fall.

That's what I've been taught, I hope it helps someone.. haha smile.gif

sleep on your back.

take two dumbbells and roll your shoulder in a backward circular motion, it helps to keep high posture.

erm, that`s exactly like me. people told me to sleep on my back
but i never can unless i sleep on the floor, and believe me, it
actually works ! get some blankets to make it a bit comfy and
then sleep on your back.
