This is something I don't get. Many restaurants and supposedly educated chefs like to serve :-

- seafood risotto
- tomato risotto and whatever

Risotto is rice cooked the mediterranean style: wet, soggy, partially cooked, mushy mess. i dont think they use a rice cooker and somehow they manage to undercook the rice. then they mixit up with other partially cooked stuff. ends up like soggy fried rice.

Why do they massacre rice this way? It's revolting.
It should be a crime.

Does anyone here like to eat risotto?

Woot i'm like first to comment anyways i work as part time chef at a cafe so i presume i'm like kinda an educated chef anyways the risotto u have displayed is mini cooper; the point of risotto is to have the rice absorb all the soup (essence) and still be nice and soft. So rule of thumb; most occasions soup is bad. . . .at best it should be kinda like a sauce not a soup.

"Risotto is supopsed to go with cheese to make it stick together - nowadays people have lost the plot" quote from my sensei or like mentor - yes he was japanese and cooked french food

Anyways i personally do not cook risotto because i can't make it properly and i think it stinks. Like seriously it's just a fancy way to overcharge people. .

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat `Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.

I love risotto! I find that it tastes so goood... haha.
It's not supposed to be partially cooked rice. The rice is supposed to be soft.

°_° I eat it very frequently....it's really good! It depends on how you cook it, but usually it's really super good! But i think you have to eat it where it's from ._. like here you can find really bad white asian style rice, maybe over there they're not so skilled with risotto °_°

And anyway usually it's not so watery xD

Well when you've grown up eating Asian-style steamed or boiled rice, it's likely to take time for your tastebuds to adjust not only in flavour, but also in texture to a different style of cooked rice.
I'd say your reaction is more of a culture 'shock'.
For eg, many Asians like sweet soups but alot of Caucasians I meet think it's foul! Again, they just never grew up being familiar with the idea of a sweet 'soup'.

I love risotto. It's so creamy and delicious.

You probably had badly cooked risotto. It should have a creamy texture to it. It shouldn't be wet and soggy.

everyday, it's You i live for...
