hi guys sorry for the noob question but a friend was looking at a 2002 honda integra type-r but the downfall is this owner has put on a body kit that we consider ugly (it doesn't even have its stock rims sad.gif ) so anyway, heres a pic of the front and back

just wondering is it easy to remove it or would we have to take it to a workshop and get it professionally removed, considering we have no experience with this kind of stuff.

thanks

Only take it off if you do not like it. The crowd shouldn't matter. Anyway, this is a very simple kit to take off. The front seems to be attached with bolts on the bottom, screws in the wheel well, and 3M tape.

The rear is similar.

RSX = Integra? I thought they were different things ph34r.gif

Bumpers and lips are just clips and screws, easy to take off probably take you less than 30 mins, unless they are painted together which means once you take it off youre gonna ruin the paint and have to re paint it.

i believe it is because that only in the u.s. its under the acura name otherwise other places like in japan and europe its all under the honda name.

but for the kit it looks like a lip kit thats attached onto the factory body kit and shouldnt be hard to remove

The JDM counterpart to the RSX is the Integra, or I should say, the RSX is a rebadged Integra.

It depends on the kit, some are hanging out with clips under the bumper with tape along the edges, but some requires drilling near the edges with a bolt on it, so try to find the name of kit and look it up, and also get the car up on a lift and look around, dont wanna try to yank it off thinking its tape when its a screw @.@

It's a Chargespeed lip kit. Should come off with screws in the wheel wells and bottom side.

theres probably like 2 screws on the sides where the front wheels are. then about 8 bolts on the bottom which can be removed by sockets. usually 10mm

haven't had a chance to look at it yet, the owner lives fair distance away and i have uni exams. umm do the other integras come in 6sp manual??? cos i thought only the Type R does. remember this is the one released in australia, type s didn't come till the later model (well i'm pretty sure it didn't. wasn't it meant to replace the type r??)

As said already, the front and rear lips are very easy to remove, unbolt (assuming no adhesives) and you're done. Might wanna check with owner whether he will include the original Type R front & rear lips. Otherwise it'd look kind of out of shape due to the side skirts.

DC5 Type R features it should have: 6 speed gearbox with LSD, Recaro seats (easy to tell), Momo leather steering wheel (should say Momo on the near bottom of it), titanium gear knob. If it has all these I'm pretty sure its a Type R. The engine should be a K20A2, similar to the engine in the US Acura RSX Type S but with some different engine components. That's all I could gather from dad

Hope it helps!

Yes, the Type R does come with front and rear lips as stock that were held on with screws.

If the front & rear lips were taken off, it should like like any stock DC5 (non-Type R/S).

Try comparing it to other DC5s & DC5Rs on autotrader.com.au or carsales.com.au
Might be a good idea to check REVs prior to purchase too.

Hope this helps!
