I'm going to Korea in about a week and coming back at September.
and I'm planning to get a job and also get a cell phone
but I think all the phones here are so gross,
I[m thinking of getting either icecream phone or BoA's secret colour phone, or cube phone
which are all korean's and I'm wondering if I can use them here
without paying extra fees or whatever.
of course, none of them are released in US or Canada, so I'm really sad
that I might not be able to use them here!
I've heard many different things, some says that i can if I change some sort of card/chips
\
and some are saying that I can't cuz the whole system is different
my friend has a shine phone she got from Hong Kong and she's using it in here fine.
but the shine ones are released in here too so is that why she can use it?
anyw

u cant use it if the phone hasn't been hacked yet, with either a hardware/software unlock or with a hypersim.
and most of the phones haven't been
so best thing to do is buy a korean phone online?
and those phones you mentioned -- icecream/boa's.. haven't been unlocked so you cant use it here

Actually no , since CDMA is the most common use network in Korea , most of their phones wont work in USA/CANADA . So you cant use a sim card and just put it in.
