but if you did, the chinese hanyupinyin (that's uhmm official chinese romanisation) is Li Xiao Li...

it's pronounced as Lee See-ow Lee.. but the 'Lee' in front is much heavier and lower than the 'Lee' at the back... uhh.. the one in front is pronounced as how you'd pronounce the 'lea' in 'leave' while the one at the back is pronounced as how you'd pronounce the 'li' in 'lit'!

Britney Songwriters Complain of Lee Hyo-lee 'Plagiarism'
Representatives for the writers of the Britney Spears song “Do Something” have written to the producers of K-pop star Lee Hyo-lee saying “parts” of the title song in Lee’s latest album “Get ya” are plagiarized. While this is not the first time the Korean pop industry has been accused of pilfering, it is the first time the copyright holder has formally complained.

Universal Music Publishing Korea, which handles copyright of “Do Something” here, said Thursday it sent a recording of “Get Ya” to the composers of the Spears song and the company that manages the copyright 15 days ago. In response, three out of the four composers agreed that the Lee song was “significantly influenced” by their own work “and there are some parts that constitute plagiarism,” Universal said.

There are no hard-and-fast criteria to decide what constitutes plagiarism in Korea, and any such allegations must be decided in court following a complaint by the author of the “original” work.

Universal said it will meet with the songwriters behind “Get Ya” to seek a settlement, but it did not rule out legal action. Murmurs about the startling similarity between the two songs arose as soon as Lee’s album hit the stores on Feb. 9. The artist herself denies anything other than temporary precedence of one work over the other, saying, “It’s just that Britney Spears did this funky style of music before me,” but insisted “Get Ya” was different in vocals, rhythm and tune.

I really think it's not her fault at it, but it's really her producer who gave her the song....but why are korean producer so dumb enough to copy others work....when they know they really did take parts of Britney's "Do Something", i mean come on parts of it would still considered plagiarism...I really think hyori should stick to the anymotion type of music...you get it....since it she gain more attention for that...but seriously, producer are pushing singers so hard these days....they can atleast try something different.

But whatever monetary awards this will involve, that should not be taken out of Hyori's paycheck. This thing should not have happened in the first place. That's my 2 cents.

ooh i just watched the clip where Hyori got punk'd... goshh they really made her cry! but at least it shows how much the FinKL girls love each other... and i didn't really understand the clip so i didnt understand why Yuri was hanging around outside while the rest of the FinKL girls were waiting in the rooms... then i suddenly realised that the person on the bed was meant to be Yuri!!

but one thing i gotta say after watching the clip-- Lee Jin is a really great actress!!!

Couldn't agree with you more. It is not a nice joke to pull though. But I could not help myself to laugh especially when Hyori tried to comfort one of the Finkl girls and when she stopped the guy from uncovering the sheet off of what's meant to be Yuri's dead body.

20/3 News - Hyori Preparing For Solo Concert

Megastar Lee Hyori, who has often been criticized for lip-synching, has recently indicated that she is preparing for a solo concert.

In 4 days, Lee Hyori sang live twice at MBC's Show Music Core programme with her second album's lead single, Get Ya. She announced that from now onwards, she will be singing live for all her performances. In the past two weeks, Get Ya has occupied the #1 Song position on MBC.

Also, Lee Hyori is planning to hold a solo concert this summer. Even though FinKL has had two concerts before, this will be Hyori's first solo concert.

Recently on a music programme, when a reporter met Hyori, she indicated that she will end her second album's promotional activities early and start on her solo concert instead. The timeframe will be between July and August. Hyori intends to fight back the rumours about her lipsynching through this coming solo live concert.

CRAZY NEWS on 24/3! Hyori Cancels All Her Activities For At Least A Week



Because Hyori's Vol 2 lead single, Get Ya has many similarities to American artiste Britney Spear's Do Somethin', the Korean Copyright company has taken legal action against Hyori on behalf of the American Copyright company.

When Britney Spears herself heard the song Get Ya, she had no reaction. However, the producers of the song Do Somethin' were extremely indignant. This is there are 3 producers of the song-- one is American, the other two are actually Korean. But because the so-called plagiarism was done in Korea itself, so the Korean producers are unhappy. However, they hope that this will not affect Hyori's reputation or career-- the people they want to sue are only the producers of the song Get Ya.

But however, this song is a song that hundreds of thousands of people have witnessed Hyori perform so many times already.
