When you first get them, of course your lips are going to bulge out in the beginning because they feel weird and it's different, but eventually you get used to them.
The pain.. isn't that bad? You might have to take a tylenol but I never did. It just pulls your teeth and stuff. I might feel weird at first, but then haha sorry if this scares you, it just gets numb and you don't notice that it's pulling your teeth.
Have you had any teeth removed yet? It's not going to be that bad compared to having your teeth pulled out. Don't be scared! =)

I don't know about you guys, but mines hurt soooo bad.
I was crying my eyes out 2 hours after i got them on. hahaha.
It doesn't really sting, its more of pressure-pull pain.
It only hurts 1-2 hours after you get them on and everytime they tighten the wire. (well, for me atleast)
Mines really only hurt at first cause i had to wear rubberbands when i first got them on which like,
gave my teeth a real good pull.
Just be prepared not to be able to eat anything but liquids for a few good days.
I don't look any different.
Just lost some weight which slimmed down my face..
which is a good thing for me. hahah.
My lips don't bulge out though (:

I'm really considering Invisilign because I'm so scared of the pain :X haha.
That, and I already have fat lips and I don't want my lips to bulge out anymore than it already does T_T.

I think braces are cute, though. =) Nobody cares if you have 'em and once you're done your teeth will be nice and perfect.

At least that's what it was for me and my friends when we first got braces
When you first get your braces, it'll feel pretty weird to speak or smile with them, because your not used to metal sticking out of your mouth..
But it's not that bad.
And umm, the first few days, I would highly recommend taking some sort of aspirin.
Most of my friends with braces as well as myself felt a LOT of pain when we first got them.
Oh, and when you first wake up in the morning, your braces may make your mouth hurt like heck.
I'm trying to be honest as possible, because for a lot of people, getting braces does hurt, but maybe you'll be lucky and won't have any major pain xD

than again i have them . :3
its all worth it for that perfect smile in the end , rite?
they don't hurt me at all, not even when they tighten them.
I asked my orthodontist why is that, and he said something w/ increasing technology? haha, idk.
but they did hurt for like a few days/a week when i first got them on.
you catch on to them pretty quicklly, so they're not that bad.

The process of putting them on might hurt or annoy you a little (or taste gross), the first hour doesn't really hurt, but after that the pulling-pain sets it (just imagine someone forefully pushing all your teeth together). After a week or two it doesn't hurt anymore, although it still might bug you to chew really hard food.
You have to go back about every month to get them tightened or whatever the orthodontist wants to do, but it doesn't hurt. You still feel the pulling, but it's less painful&usually can't feel it after 1 day, and honestly, I somewhat liked it when they tightened my teeth because it meant they were actually doing something useful and not just wasting another month with braces on lol (I don't have them anymore).
Anyway, it's not that..ugh; braces will probably be your best friend for the next couple of years if you get them

But first.. they might put spacers, then afterwards.. they start to put in the rubberbands?
And then you come back 2-3 weeks later, you put it on.
It depends on the face structure too.
I don't think it'll budge out too much, ya know?
*still pm me please, although it might take awhile to reply!

As for making your lips bulge out ... it's hard to get used to them at first so for the first little while it might seem like your lips are bulging out a lot, but it really doesn't make that much of a difference once you get used to it. Though, there are some people who need to get teeth pulled because there's not enough space, and if you don't get them pulled, it can make your lips bulge out noticeably since there's not quite enough room.

i still look the same with braces, my mouth doesn't look bigger, its just theres metal in my mouth. the only time your mouth area will look big is when you first get them and its kinda puffy for a couple of hours because they have to keep that thing in your mouth to make it wide open. a lot of my friends tend to forget that i have braces.

No pain, no gain.
yup no pain, no gain
I had mine for 2 years, i got them off 8 months ago and it's really worth it. It makes my teeth straighter and no more gaps.
