Please help! Ever since my stupid Vista computer restarted itself to update features, my internet has been having problems... My MSN, msn/sympatico.ca, Facebook site, Xanga, and deviantART and anything related (say re-directing from Google.. clicking on a FB, MSN, deviantART or Xanga link from Google) does not load! And it give me some message about server/internet connection problem, when I AM logged on to the internet since other sites work... **Some other sites probably do not work too but... those are the sites I visit most often lol.

MSN Error code 81000306 always appears when I try logging on to MSN... USUALLY this fixes itself in just a couple of hours but... I haven't been able to go on for two days now. I try Googling a solution to the error code but NOTHING loads.... I used my school computer today to get onto msn.ca and it works just fine....... ugh stupid home computer...

Anyone know a solution?? Please help!!

Don't just say "oh, virus." If it actually IS a virus please try and specify what kind and what I can do..???

... Ughh and my One LiveCare doesn't workkk so I can't even detect whether it is a virus.... tears.gif

according to the google solutions
error code 81000306 only involves MSN Messenger

which means your lack of internet is caused by something else. and the error code is completely irrelevant.
most obvious possibilities:
1) modem and/or router unplugged
2) modem and/or router not connected to computer
3) ISP (internet service provider) is experiencing problems (call and ask, they usually will solve everything)
4) network/internet configuration is incorrect

less likely possibility:
1) virus (very hardly likely that any virus would disable your connection to the internet, it would have to be run as a program in real-time for that to work efficiently enough)

the onyl way i can think of it being a virus is if the virus modifies and locks your network configuration
but again, i don't see any use in that seeing that it would not be able to send out information.
if it's none of those problems, you would have to give us more information in order for us to help.

i got five on it.

Thanks a bunch!!

*sigh* aaah yeah the modem/router probably was unplugged somehow... (It's comming back to me, this stupid thing happened before too lolll....) If so, then that has the possibility of causing some sites to work and not work?

Thanks again! ^^;;
