My brother wants to play his xbox, but the only way he can would be if we set up a tv in the computer room so he could get wireless connection for xbox live. It's really inconvenient for me to have a big fat TV in the middle of my computer room where I do work/other stuff. Basically, I need a wireless router. where can I get one for a decent price, and work well? sweatingbullets.gif

try linksys. i havent had any problem with linksys wirelesses.
ummm. if it works well depends on the distance from the router to the xbox.
wireless routers only have a maximum effective radial range. if you want to extend the range, you'll have to buy range extenders, that must be placed within the range of the original router....imagine overlapping circles, with the centre as the router/extender.

any computer electronics shop should sell routers, since they are commonly used.

be aware that wireless routers may limit the maximum potential of your internet connection being delivered to the xbox.
so if your xbox requires a speed connection, higher than what your router provides....then you should go for cabled routers, if at all possible....usually this wont be the case.

for wireless routers, you have to start considering securing the network that you will set up....and alot of others things that aren't coming up to my mind right now

portforward.com is the best site for that stuff, they do a step by step process for your specific router with pics so you don't get lost

Get a linksys WRT54G, it's a great router with easy config. You can easily go to your local Target or online store and pick one up for around $50 easy

you might want to get a wireless N instead of a wireless G. it's better, but more expensive

it's either d-link or linksys.
those are the top two brands.

the range. uhh. i have no idea. its hard to say. it depends how far your xbox is, the amount of interference in between including walls and floors.
