Hello, I will be a second year at UCLA this fall and I am looking for an internship/job, preferably related to the medical field (hospital, dentist, orthodontist, pharmacy, office). Or a unique internship anywhere, it doesn't necessarily have to be in medicine (maybe art? history? music? etc etc?). I am also interested in possibly tutoring or working at an SAT prep place (like Princeton or Kaplan?)

I currently work at a Wetzel's and volunteer at a hospital, but I was wondering if you guys knew anyone or any place near UCLA that needs an intern (or knew of a job opening).

I would greatly appreciate anyone's help!! Thanks :]

I think trying craigslist.com might actually help better than soompi. why? because the only ones who can help you really are the people looking for the same internship. and why would they share their new job that THEY want and not stolen hehe =)

Try craigslist.. or other ads.

Also - There are always people looking.. or ask your school career people.. cuz a lot of the internship places who've hired students from YOUR school continue to email the schoolboard/teachers about upcoming internships... =]

^ I agree. I don't think a lot of people would be open to suggest unless they currently/previously worked for a place that's hiring.

Do some research; Craigslist is a good start. If your school has some sort of job database, that would be even better because it shows listings of companies that may be more interested in students at your school. There are also job search engines that I like such as indeed.com or simplyhired.com

I also think it would be wiser to choose a position pertaining to your career or education path. While it's nice to have experience in many areas, your future employer will definitely want to hire someone with related experience..

have you tried searching on bruinview? It's a free service for ucla students (and alumni I think, not sure though). All you have to do is use your bol id as if you're logging on to ursa or my.ucla. You could also go to the career center and ask the counselors there to point you in the right direction (they're not the best of help, but they're worth a shot).
