ok i'm not the most tech savy person ever so yea...><

My dad recently got me a Sony Vaio model PCG-394L with a built in webcam. The thing is i can't seem to find where to activate it. It works when i webcam with my friends but the thing I just want to open it and take pictures and stuff. I had assume it would have been automatic and listed under accessories but it's not. The guy said I had to go on to the Sony website to download a certain software, but I tried several times and can't seem to get the correct software. Can someone please send me the proper link to download the software to activate my webcam?? and I don't just mean telling me to just go to sony.com cause when I tried it asked for model and I put it in then it forces me to choose from a list of models starting with vgnf....and i don't see anything starting with a vgnf on my laptop and i don't have the box with me...so help please! thanks!
keep on wishing and dreaming.

Oddly that model number seems to be a generic series rather than a specific model
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-find.pl?mdl=PCG-394L Most likely, the exact model number is on the bottom of your laptop.

Assuming its basically the same for the whole series, I just randomly selected one and went to the drivers page http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNFZ220UB

And this should be the drivers for your camera http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-downl...84&os_id=30

They call it "Camera Capture Utility" if you have vista, click start and type in Capture... or Camera in the quicksearch

And to balance out this post http://dorgem.sourceforge.net/ is a free... basic image capture program which can let you test your camera... and might be good enough for your needs.
