MY WISDOM TOOTH IS COMING OUT AND IM REALLY SCARED TO GO TO THE DENTIST BECAUSE OF ALL THE STORIES I HEARD. BUT MY FACE SHAPE IS CHANGING ON ONE SIDE BECAUSE OF TOOTH AND I HAVE SWOLLEN CHEEKS.
CAN ANYBODY TELL ME THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH THE EXTRACTION?
ITS ALREADY SLOWLY OUT OF MY GUMS BUT I KNOW I HAVE TO TAKE IT OUT SINCE ITS SO PAINFUL.

Truth: It DOESN'T hurt. For real I ain't bsing you. If it really hurt that bad, I would remember it til this day. And I don't so it wasn't that bad. I don't even remember which part hurt, the needles maybe.
Oh yeah and I still have to get the other side taken out. I'm alright with it, but just make sure you eat ALOT of your favorite food before going. You won't get the chance once you're out, because it has to heal.

The upside is that .. since you're in pain .. everyone does everything for you!
They give you pain killers too. They gave me tylenol 3 ... I was expecting vicodin.

LOL, my wisom tooth on the right this time is coming out. surprisingly, it isn't hurting as much as it did for my left one.
and i could already see half of it.
-even though you're scared to go to the dentist, you don't have much of a choice but to go. and you should go asap. because for me, i've waited through a past days since it was really hard to make an appointment (since the dentist office was closed ever so often). and when the day came, i found out i got an infection. ;(
thats why it hurt more than usual. and i mean, it REALLY hurt. disregarding Naimie's post.
the minute the dentist gave me a shot for the anesthesia, i began crying. (and i don't usually cry that much for shots).
and since i still felt some pain, he had to insert some damn more. -3-
but during the procedure, you can't really feel much pain. you could feel them all the tools in your mouth, but no pain. especially for me since i was too busy crying my ass off.
but i felt a tint of pain when he extracted my tooth. :X and then i cried some more.
and my dentist was like "stop being such a BABY! it's all finished now, would you like to see your tooth?"
and i was just pissed and wanted to go home, so they stitched me up, and i just took my jacket and left without saying goodbye or thanking them. disrespectful of me, but i was in too much pain.
and on the elevator down, i couldn't stop crying.
the whole procedure was a nightmare to me for the whole day. i kept on getting flashbacks. it was scary.
but yes, thats the baby way of telling the story.

Haha our stories are so similar except I didn't cry while he was doing it. I cried before cause I was so scared. I know .. it's sad. I was 20 at the time. A 20 year old crying.

what hurt for me was when they gave me shots on my gums to numb it.
but it's the same shot as what you get at the general dentist if you have a cavity that's deep.
it doesn't hurt. trust me. you'll feel pressure, but no pain.

it was just the time AFTER the surgery that it really hurt. Couldn't eat certain kinds of food, drinking a certain drink made me sick, and there was a little bit of bleeding but not too much.

2 of mine in the bottom have come out already, but I'm not having mine pulled out since they don't bother me in any way and don't make the front teeth crooked or anything.

They say "crush it" but it really isn't as bad as it sounds. They have like some cutting device and just cut the tooth into like 1/4th
