I went to buy some 10 lb dumbbell plates and went to the "fitness source" store, which I've found in the past always had the best prices. I recall buying plates at a rate of 41 cents/pound CDN. When I went today, they jumped up to $1/pound from one year ago. Maybe the cost of iron has gone up, but by 2.5 times?! So I'm just curious for those of you that have bought plates recently what the prices approximately should be, in your area. This is to make sure that prices actually have gone up all over the place, either that or the price is jacked up unnecessarily.

If you think I'm whining about paying 60 cents more, I want another 40 lbs of weight...that's $40 as opposed to the $18 or so I paid last year.

i pay 99cents/lb. It's not a big deal really. I mean, once you buy the plates, that's that. You don't need to constantly go buy more and more...unless you're planing on making a bid for "World's Strongest Man"
