I was going over some new artists, and found that I was more attracted to male singers than females (well, maybe because I'm a girl?). But I asked my sister which she prefers - guys' voices or girls' voices. She said girls, the exact opposite of me... So, just my question to you all, what kind of artists do you prefer? And yes, I realize that this is stereotyping singers. I'm not saying I completely ignore female singers. It's just...I feel a stronger connection and liking to male singers, usually in a band and not solo. So how about it?

Assuming you can't hear their songs, or see what they look like. I'm asking because when I see the selection of music, I can't see pictures of the artists, or hear their songs. Judging by the name only...which is why I was asking, because I was curious. I wonder if I'm biased toward guy singers? (Though I do really enjoy a lot of female singers, like Boa, SNSD, WG, CSJH, etc).

for me, it depends first and foremost on their music . the music should get me hooked.

doesn't matter whether they're male or female, if their songs are good I'd listen to them over and over and over. I tend to listen to one artist exclusively for a period of time. I liked Fahrenheit's song (taiwanese boy band) Zhi Dui Ni You Gan Jue and i started listening to all their songs. Found a couple of songs by S.H.E. (taiwanese girl group) and started listening to them over and over and over again too. Then I got hooked on Se7en's music, Namie Amuro's (her later stuff anyway, not her music from the 90s)..and now Big Bang. hahaha..absolutely positively obsessed, I watch all their shows and read all I can about them to the extent that it's not just about the music, it's them that I really like as artists (fangirling of course). But with S.H.E and Namie Amuro I got hooked on them too because of their fashion...they just dress so awesomely, Namie especially. but all in all...it's definitely the music that's most important for me.

I'm actually more attracted to female singers, especially female SOLO singers. (like BoA, Ai Otsuka <33333, Ayumi hamasaki, Koda Kumi, YUI, Mika Nakashima, Ivy, Younha, Hyori <3, Leah Dizon...lol..a lot of jpop artists) I don't know, maybe cause i like their fashion? and music.

For groups, I still prefer girl groups. LOL. DBSK, Epik High (and maybe SHINee) are my only exception. I dunno, male artists seem to be overrated sometimes (gosh don't kill me for this. ><)

oh wow.. this would be hard. I dont think their gender really make a different, but more of their voice.
If i like the song, and the voice, then i definitely will check out more of them.
For guys, i really like deep, a bit graspy voice singing songs like the 3 doors down.
For girls, I like it if their voices a bit more fluid-ish, n sound like flutes~. if u get wt i mean. I like deep voice on girls as well, but not neccessary to belt out crazy notes. Sometime i feel like the adlibs are over used with girls and guys. I like girls' voice to be light but sharp. While guys to have more a heavier, graspy voice that pull your hearts and souls.

If i could only choose one, i would choose GIRL SOLO. But if for the catchy pop, RnB hiphop then i prefer guys, bands. I dont really like Male soloist. I like female bands though, but only for their sweet, pure pop songs.
i have enough fair share on both males and female artist, but i like band better than soloist.

Solo or bands, I support them all. It's the music they bring that makes me love them.
Being artists themselves and knowing they work really hard for their fans makes them very attractive to me.
I'm a huge fan of BoA & DBSK. Behind them are SHINee, SuJu, BigBang, SS501 & SNSD.
I love all their voices and out of all of the boys from those groups it's Junsu's voice that I love most.
It's not because I'm attractive to only his, but because his voice soothes me to sleep xD.

Sometimes their voices get a little off and just make me go .. but at least I know they're trying.
High pitch/cutesy voices really really put me off.

I think I'm more attracted to male voices [and I'm not biased]
I like the lower sounds more than the higher, female voices

but don't get me wrong, I like female singers, like SNSD, Gummy, CSJH, etc.

I think I also prefer groups to solos because I like hearing a variety of voices when I listen to music


But~ as long as the music is good, I'll listen ^^

I love listening to guy's voices when they sing.. it's so soothing XD
but somehow for me, I can't really listen to girls sing that much... their voices are too high for me to be able to listen to them for extended amounts of time =S
However, if they have a lower tone to their voice like Park Bom or Bae Seul Gi, I love to listen to them.
It's just the high pitch voices that drive me crazy sometimes ><

Of course, I still like SNSD and Wonder Girls and what not, but I'd still get swept off by Big Bang or DBSK xD

The music is what has to interest me.
Doesn't matter if it's a girl/guy singer/band.
If the music is catchy, I'll like it.
Though, I listen to more guy bands then girl bands.
The songs that guy band sings catches my interest more then what girl bands would sing.
Maybe I haven't heard enough songs from girl bands but that's just me.
DBSK//SuJu sing a lot of ballads which I love and I haven't really heard any ballads from SNSD//WG.

I agree (except for the SNSD part haha). I love the harmonization of voices in guy groups more than girls but I love when a girl sings by herself. IDK why though...

Like most people said, I'll go for music first regardless of who they are. After that, as a guy I'll prefer female artists or groups first.
