I kind of agree with Ice T though (about how soulja boy has killed hip-hop but not single-handedly of course) but I think that a lot of modern music, not just hip-hop (especially since I don't listen to it much)... Whenever I hear Soulja boy, I shake my head at where hip-hop has gone. Then I shake my head at myself when I'm being forced to do the damn dance with friends at a party or something. Kanye's got a good point about how Soulja boy is coming from the hood and creating a song that people can enjoy, but honestly like somebody pointed out, lyrically....well theres just nothing lyrically strong in his songs.

im with Ice T, as someone who grew up with the late 80s & 90s hip hop, i agree that soulja boy, hurricane chris, vic and collipark in general sucked ass! one of the main reason i stopped listening to hiphop and started listening to other genre was becuz it just seemed to have gotten dumber and dumber in lyrical content as the years progress, majority from the south...like the No Limit, like the Cash Money, like the DFL, like the Lil Jon, like the Snap music, like soulja boy...

and second, f kanye...he aint from the hood, he froms the suburbs of chicago, and hes one to be talking about recycle samples? he made his career off of sampled music...its surprising he seems like he aint got the balls to just say soulja boy is wack...

For anyone to agree with Ice T you have to be on crack. Soulja is seventeen years old and for that old ass man to attack him is shame.
