Um, so i just saw a Google banner that said "Hey <my name> check out these Ringtones". It's the first time i've seen a banner do this...it's kinda scary.

Do you know the source? It sounds kind of scary for an ad to be able to read your cookies.. privacy concerns like that.

Personally, I block all ads and banners with Adblock plus. This article can fill you in on how your information can be passed to advertisers.

I think its probably because they actually know your name and everything, kinda creapy if u ask me.

They don't know your name. It's most likely just script that takes info stored under name headers in cookies or elsewhere and pastes it into some phrase. So If you go about your business(Registering user names, forms and the like) claiming to be "Mr. Donkeyturd" for long enough I'm sure those are the names you'll see in 'personalized' ads.

Cookies and cache is what you need to get rid of.
If you have Firefox, you can set it to automatically clean your entire history, cookies, cache etc. automatically when you close Firefox.
