Hi! I'm Augeleste and I know quite a bit on dieting and losing weight because I've experienced it myself and I'm continuing to diet throughout.
I may not know everything, but I know most things. I lost 15 pounds and I started dieting in May.
If any of you have questions, I'll be happy to answer them! <3

Can you please list what foods you eat?

Maybe a three day journal of what you eat each day plus what time? That includes drinking

Remember that 'toning' is just the changing of fat into muscle, so if you want to lose the fat, you're going to end up gaining muscle.

This might be a stupid question, along with the 15lbs you lost, did you see a difference in a loss of body fat?
Like in the stomach and thighs, because those are the places that I wanna lose body fat in.
Also if you have any exercises or your diet plan.

That's good for you! It really is a great feat to accomplish~~

I have a question though... Did you follow a specific diet plan or do certain excercises routinely??

I have big calves too! It looks crazy.gif
I walk, run, jumprope, roller blade, swim, bike, and other sports like basketball, tennis, badminton...etc.
Walking builds lean calf muscles so it's okay to walk a lot.
Biking builds those wide calf muscles so you shouldn't bike to much. :[
Before and after you do any exercise, stretch so you won't gain much muscles.
Also, roll a glass bottle on your calves. It makes your calves leaner. I started doing it since last week and I think it does help! x]

I eat 1200-1300 calories per day.
& this is what I eat

I wake up at 6:30~
drink water before eating breakfast.

Breakfast: Total 300 calories [7:30]
1/2 cup of milk-50 calories
and apple OR half a banana-80 calories
low calorie waffles, bread with cream cheese, bread with peanut butter, bread with scramble eggs, cereal, muffin, or yogurt [I eat one of these]-180 calories

drink a bottle of water between breakfast and lunch.

Lunch: Total 500 calories [11:30]
everyday differs but the maximum calories I eat is 500.
I suggest you always eat a bit of salad with your meal!

drink water between lunch and snack

Snack: Total 150 calories [2:30]
LOL! fattening foods
I eat ice cream, chips, chocolate, fruits or anything but 200 calories maximum!

drink water between snack and dinner.

Dinner: Total 250 calories [5:00]
This differs everyday too but i eat a maximum of 250 calories.
Eating a light dinner is good. Keep your stomach empty for at least 5 hrs before you sleep! [I sleep at 10:30]
I usually buy the LeanCuisine because I'm too lazy to cook dinner and it's easier to manage my calories that way.
You can make your own dinner though. Maybe two slices of meat with some string beans?

drink water after dinner but do NOT eat anything else.
Just not eating after 6:00 <maximum, helps you lose weight! x]
It is reccommended to drink 4 bottles of water a day but I usually drink 3 bottles.

Plan out a food journal and count your calories!
A calorie counter I use is caloriecount.about.com
Do you know your BMR and RMR. If not, you should calculate that so you know how much calories you should eat per day..like me for example 1200 per day.

Look for the answers to your questions ^ above ^
I always stretch before exercising and stretch after exercising to reduce the bulking up on muscles.
roll a glass bottle on your calves to make them leaner! it works from my experience. x]
Running builds A LOT OF MUSCLES so I don't run much. If i do, I only run for 20 minutes.
I usually walk, jumprope, stretch, dance...and sometimes some other sports.

Is it possible to burn fat and not sweat profusely? (Can you still burn fat if you sweat only a little)

hahha this is not a stupid question.
I wanted to know the answer to this question too before I started losing weight but no one answered. x[
Yes, I did lose a lot of stomach fat. I was 29 inches but now I'm 25 and I'm losing more weight so...but there is one thing I HATE about losing fat!
None of my clothes look good on me anymore and they look so oversized. I need to buy new clothes. My pants..they're falling down even with a belt!
I lost the most fat on my stomach. My thighs..i lost an inch. I started to losing weight to lose fat on my thighs but instead i lost fat on my stomach. lol

If your just starting to lose weight, start by walking 30 mins per day after dinner.
then, add some other exercises like dancing, sports, biking, jumproping and other.

Running would help losing fat and toning up but, it would gain some more muscles too. I suggest you run for less than an hour and do other exercises.
To lose fat, you have to eat healthy foods. Watch your calories and eat low fat and low carb foods like fruits, vegetables...and NO fast foods, oily foods..etc.
Also, don't eat after a certain time. Your stomach should be empty for 5 hrs before you sleep. wink.gif
Lose weight! From my experience, you lose all the fat first, then when there is nothing else to burn, it burns down the muscles.

not exactly~
that's one way but you can also lose the fat without gaining any muscles.

Yes, you can do the light exercises like walking, jump roping, yoga, other. You will sweat a little but not much.
To burn fat, you need to watch what you eat too.

Ah i love this thread. (:
- Well I've lost about 10lbs already wanting to get to about 110lbs before school starts. And I've done a lot of running, well alternating between
walks and running mostly. Like I'd walk about .25 miles, run .75miles = 1.00 miles. And I'd just alternate after that. I run until i at least lose to about 450 calories, about that's about 3.10 miles for me altogether. Do you think that's good enough? Of course, i do stretch before and after for like five minutes. And right after running i do ab workouts for about ten minutes, on the ball or on the floor. Then i lift weights for about another ten minutes with 5 lb weights. I do arm lifts, biceps and triceps mostly so i can tone that back part of my arm. But should i do other things rather than this? I keep this routine for about four or five times week. My dad always complains to me whenever i do like videos and yoga. he's always like "Don't do that, go run the treadmill!".

So far, this whole summer, i haven't been eating that much. I'm always skipping breakfast and sometimes lunch. Because I'm that that hungry, so i something just eat dinner. But for dinner every day now i usually only have a salad, with a bit of chicken and carrots and tomatoes. And I'm drinking about two water bottles each day; 20 fl oz water bottles. Do you think that I'll gain or lost more if i keep continuing this skipping meal? I know that it's bad to skip meals, but i don't want to eat when I'm not even hungry.

haha, sorry that my post is sooo long, I just got excited seeing your thread. Because i really want to lose weight before school starts that is in eight weeks or so. (: & thank you lots!
something always brings me back to you .♥________________

innocentlove, Is not good to skip meals....
Your body wont have enough fat to burn and it would use the ones that were accumulated.
You have to eat at least 5 times a day : Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner. You should have at least 3/4 cup of cereal + a beverage and a fruit for breakfast.
If you skip the meals, you might gain all the weight you have lost so far.
Drink more water, if not you are going to start retaining them.
Take care of yourself better.

Gaining muscle is a good thing. You burn more calories at rest if you have more muscle. It's a common misconception that if you weight lift, you will get bigger. This is true for guys but not so much for women. So I suggest adding some weight lifting into your exercise routine.

P.S. if you don't believe me, research weight lifting and women.

Uh...o__O; Isn't 1300 calories too low also? The government nutritional site says 1600 for me at least depending on height and I'm 5'2.
