Hey I'm entering college as a freshman this fall, and I'm seriously still confused about what I want major in. As far as I know, I'm going to major in Secondary Education..I really like Social Studies-History. Maybe I want to be a World History Teacher or something. However, one day I'd really like to teach English as a foreign language in South Korea! Ahh, it's making me confused. Should I major in History and minor in English? or Major in English and minor in History. Please help a woman out yo'

I would wait until you finish at least your first year at UH until you declare your major. Use your first 2 semesters to take gen-ed classes and some of your major pre-reqs and see what you like.
You declare your major/minor with the department adviser.

Ahh okay, thanks so much for your help! I've been stressing a lot about that >_< So what do you think I should do with my major though? I mean, would it be okay to get a B.ed in English, teach in korea, and come back to teach here permanently?

Are you teaching "English" as like an ESOL (English as a Second Language) class or American English classes where they like discuss grammar and books.
If you go to teaching English (the language), then you can always teach in Korea (if you can find a job, and if you are able to teach English in Korean). If you stay in the U.S., you can use your English teaching to teach ESOL. So if this is what you want to do good luck!

As for majors or minors, you do not "need" to decide yet until your junior year of college. If this is the case, take general education requirements and get those out of the way since you have to take them anyway and also take classes that interest you and can possibilty help you in your decision for your major. It is best to know what your major is already, but you have 2 years to officially decide it.

^^ OH! I See. Haw, that's the thing I can't decide yet. I want to teach English as a foreign language in Korea, but I doubt that I'll stay there forever. I'm hoping I can come back and teach. But the thing this...I don't think I'd want to teach the English language in America. I think I want to be an English Language Arts teacher. Hmm... I'm so confused
