this was my first time at streets of willow (actually i have been there once before but that was a little over 4 years ago in my miata). it was 106* yesterday....i was dying... i turned down the boost in my car to 0.6 bar (about 8.7psi) which is actually less than stock boost. i usually run 0.9bar, so i was down a lot of power. also i could only run a couple laps before my temps got too high, this was the first time i've ever had cooling problems with my car. i guess to run in 106* heat im going to need a v-mount and bigger oil coolers (im thinking dual 25 row). so i basically just pretended like i was qualifying and did an out lap, a hot lap, then pitted to cool my car down. so didnt drive many laps that day. my tires also got greasy in a lap. i wish i wasnt so poor so could buy a new set of r-comps, running street tires sucks. so by the end of the day i only managed a 1:30.2xx, i was hoping to get below 1:30. if it was cooler out i know i could have gone much faster. not only would my tires have much more grip and i could have ran more boost, but i would have had much more track time to learn the track.
i dont have a camera in my car so my friend took this vid. he has an ap2 s2000 with toyo ra1's (r-comp tire), coilovers, track pads, and single exhaust
