So, I accidentally left my ipod on and the battery died. I use my laptop to charge it and am charging it right now and since yesterday. 1/4 of it is already charged.

The problems are:

-when I plug it into my laptop through the usb cord, it doesn't pop up on itunes

-Every 3-5 mins, my ipod's screen will show the apple logo while a clicky and whistling noise keeps sounding and goes straight to the picture with the url: www.apple.com/support/ipod

-When it's not plugged into my laptop, it'll do the same thing except if I do turn it off, it won't make the weird sounds. I also cannot access my music! TT__TT

Help, anyone?

Two days ago, not too bad. The clicky and whirly sound is definitely a bad sign. Unfortunately it most likely indicates your hard drive is failing. It may be possible that the battery is too weak to power it but I think it looks grim. Not really worth fixing it as the drives can be hard to buy.. but not so hard to replace if you can get it open.

If anything, try dropping it on your desk while its off. Might knock things in place

I noticed with my 4G ipod, there is a issue with the hard drive connector cable. Turned out it was some bad soldering (even though it was machine done), that caused failures that seemed like hard drive failure. I would get the exact same symptoms too.

Luckily the hard drive connector is replacable and parts can be found on ebay. Good time to replace the battery too. I replaced mine with a new battery and its been a few months of trouble free operation!
