You know when you ordered foods at McDonald or the cashier at a clothing store messed up by giving you the wrong change or forgot to take off the sensors. Do you get really mad and say something about it? Or do you just forgive them in your mind and just think "Ahh new employee I'm assuming" Or what do you say when that happens?

Mostly for me, when someone messes up I always say "Oh that person is new." and just walk away o.o

YOU?

At McDonald's when someone gives me the wrong change,
I just look at my change weirdly and then at the person and walk away xD
For some reason, I can't tell them straight in the face that they gave me the wrong change LOL

I tell them straight out what happened.
I usually say, "Excuse me, what was the amount again? I think I need $-.-- more."
and then if they apologize, I say that its okay and that we all make mistakes.

no biggy~

It's really annoying when that happens because you have to stop & turn around, but it does happen, so oh well to me.
When people mess up food orders really bad that really bugs me the most because my thinking is that i already touched it so if I turn around they'd just throw it away. What a waste. The others not so much like money.
Usually if the dollar difference isn't that much i'd just walk away but if it were just tell them they messed up.
Human nature, people mess up. I just deal.

once i ordered a bubble tea & then the lady gave me the wrong one..
so i like told her & she's like telling me that i have to buy another one -.-''
& it happens a lot at mcdonalds xD *orders a cheeseburger without meat in it 8D*
they used to mess it up a lot but not really when i get it now @.@
but i'm pretty easy going compared to my mom when it comes to that kind of stuff XD

I think I appear annoyed at first, usually I just straight out say "um... this isn't the correct amount of change..". Usually people are really apologetic though and I just say something like "oh no worries, we all make mistakes, I used to work in retail so believe me, I know!" and I usually leave them with a smile on their faces. No need to make them feel worse, especially if they're new it can sometimes take a while to adjust to cash handling or the process of taking off tags in clothes shops and what not.

Occasionally I get people that make it seem like it's my fault for their mistake and THEY look annoyed. I still try to be polite but sometimes I just walk off after they have corrected the mistake.

I never walk off with the wrong change or a tag on my clothes though.. I always check and make sure first.

WOW bad memories... I went to go get a drink once and the cashier mistook the 20 for a 10. He gave me 3 dollars in change when it was suppose to be 13. My Mom got pissed and started making a scene. I was pretty embarassed...

If they make a mistake, I'll politely point it out and resolve it. No need to make a big scene. And it can happen to any employee, new or not. They can just be tired, have a lot of things going on at the same time, etc etc. It's easy to make small mistakes.

I'll point it out but I won't go crazy on them or anything.

I'll just ask them again for the right amount of change, I mean it's not your fault right?
I get pretty annoyed though on bad days.

Ahh I know what you mean about that. Especially when I work at Burger King. People said "I didn't order ths" and since they touched it. We think it could be contaminated, so we just throw the foods away because of the disease called salmonella and other stuff like norovirus, it's pretty scary.

I haven't experienced being given a wrong order or something like that but It's because I actually tell them beforehand like, when I see that they're making me an orange juice when I asked for an Iced tea, I'll say kindly that that's not my order and then they fix it right away.. Lol! Well, that's about food. About clothes, I don't really care that much. Muahahaha! I'm scared to get mad at people.. Don't like the feeling..

That's interesting. I never knew people get afraid to get mad at people o.o There's such thing like that >__<? Can I ask why you get scared to get mad? Is it because you might go crazy when you get mad? o.o

I just ask them to correct the mistake. It' understandable, everyone makes mistakes so I won't be too mad about it.

If they give me back more change than they're supposed to, I'd just walk away with a smile and a "thanks". biggrin.gif
If they give me less, I'd be mentally like "f*ck it" and walk away by considering it a charity unless it's more than 5 bucks... I'd be like "$$**?".

If it's more change, "lucky~!" (Okay, not ALL the time. But hey, an extra $1 for laterzzz)
If it's less, and not a huge amount, ehhh. A buck or two tops, though. I'm stingy v_v

Mmm. That reminds me of when I was working..

and this lady accused me of giving her the wrong change when I did it exactly correct. She was like, "I'm 4 cents short!! Gimme my 4 cents back!" I wanted to say 'look, lady! I don't owe you four cents! It said it right on the computer!' but I didn't.. So I just gave her the four cents so she'd shut up. How frugal!

When I was new, I had the worst customers ever.. some take advantage of you if they can tell that you're new.

For me, if someone messes up. It's either I ignore it if the wrong change is not so much or just say it straight out. I'm not gonna torture the employee and demand this or that.

I just walk away if I'm only missing a couple cents or a dollar. I only turn back if I'm missing more than $2. If I got more than I was supposed to have, I'll act normally then rejoice on the free money outside.
Reminds me of the time I was at Tim Horton's and I ordered a small French Vanilla Ice Capp with whipped cream + caramel. But unfortunetly, I got a large Ice Cappucino instead. I was so sad and we couldn't go back because I had to get my ass to school.
Then another time at another one, I ordered the same thing, but I didn't get my whipped cream or my caramel topping. I told my dad and he was almost yelling at the cashier lady (Who looked like she was 60). I got another one though. =)
