If you saw a kid who is about to drown in a swimming pool and you're the only person around there, no one else.

Would you go save the kid? or Would you just run away because you're just scared of seeing someone drowning into the pool? or Would you just stare at the kid until someone rescues the kid?

For me, I would go find someone to rescue the kid and not just stand around. I can't swim, I don't know how to swim at all. I'm scared of deep water if the kid was in a deep water. Well if he was in not so deep water, I'll probably go rescue the kid for sure.

for now i can say that i will save the kid since i can swim. but i havent experience such situation before, probably there will be something that affects my decision.

most ppl will definitely say that they will save the kid cause it's a life blarblarblar.
i remembered having an exam with a question asking
" if there is someone who falls off onto the railway track and you can ask a train from a far, will you save the person?"
most people wrote yes cause life is precious etc. i wrote: i dont know. i dont wish to say that i will save the person definitely. if i am to encounter such situation, probably i am all courageous to save the person, or i'm scared of dying as i'm risking my life for a stranger and i have my loved ones. i can't say for sure.

I would jump in to save him. I saved my little cousin from drowning when he fell into the pool.

I wouldn't rescue the kid.

Haha, I'm not heartless! I just can't swim O _ O I'll probably run around screaming and find something I could pull them in with.

Yo I can't swim either. mellow.gif

Maybe I'd scream for help while searching for anything big that floats and throw it near to the kid.
Maybe I'd scream and run until I find a person.
Maybe out of instinct I'd jump into the pool, only to add the burden to the savior on saving two lives.

But I'll never know how I'd react until I get to experience it. Of which, I hope I will never have to encounter this.

I'll yell my head off until someone comes. I doubt the kid or me would be on a deserted island.
I haven't swam for a while, so there would be no point trying to help the kid by going after him. ><

If I saw a kid drowning...honestly I'd like to say that I would leap into action, dive into the pool, and heroically save the kid, but I don't know what I would do. It depends on a lot of factors my mood for one (if I have a lot of self doubt or something), in what shape I'm in (I'm accident prone -- meaning I break a lot of bones), and whether or not I like the kid. LOL! I'm kidding w/ the last one. I HATE my little cousin, but I saved him from falling off the balcony of a 5 floor apt building while in Taegeau. Family obligation I suppose. He was dumb enough to climb over the railing and slip, hanging on for dear life. I HATE heights and yet I helped him anyway. I never venture onto the balcony thing, but I did because me and him were the only ones home at the time. Wow...this is beginning to sound like a movie! LOL! It actually happened though. He learned his lesson. He was 6-7 at the time and I was 10 I think. I saved my dog from being hit by a car too once at my own expense. I was the ONE that ended up getting hit. You know those crazy Korean drivers! LMAO! w00t.gif Talk about an adrenaline rush. Most of time when I do something I don't realize I'm doing it like 'thinking it through.' When I saw my cousin dangling I just went straight to help him and didn't think about anything else so who knows...maybe I'd do the same for a random drowning kid.

If somebody thinks they're a hedgehog, presumably you just give 'em a mirror and a few pictures of hedgehogs and tell them to sort it out for themselves.

It is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it... anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

I'd save him as well. Even if I didn't know how to swim I think my immediate reaction would be to jump into the body of water LOL. Stupid but I think that just a normal reaction. But thank the good Lord I know how to swim haha. So I'd save the kid!

I'm a lifeguard so that is my job so yeah ill save him.

The problem is, if you're not trained for it, you may drown along with the victim.

um... @.@ it depends how heavy/light the kid is & how deep the water is rofl.
cuz if they're in really deep water & are really heavy..
there's like no chance of me being able to save them XDD
so i'd try to find someone else to save them @.@

of course if you can't swim you can't physically go save him but what you can do is yelll for help while trying to find something to pull him to the side or throw a floatation device so he has something to grasp onto.

i'm a lifeguard so i would definitely save the kid. fat or not i was taught to save them!

If no one's around, and I'm sure no one's around, then he's pretty much screwed.

I've saved a kid from drowning before (she slid down on the water slide but missed the floaties). Thinking back on it now, I don't think I could just stand there and watch. My body moved before I had time to even think about it.

And yes, it's dangerous if you don't know how to do it. My parents' schoolmates (like ten of them and a teacher) jumped into a river to save one drowning kid and all of them ended up drowning.

This actually brings me back memories when I was out of town with my bf at this hot springs. We were at the cold pool and while my bf was being distracted, I was looking at a kid who looked as if she was drowning. I wasn't sure if she was or not so I asked my bf "is she drowning?", and my bf saw her and picked her up. And then the parents came by and then there was a big scene after. I looked like an idiot because I was the first one to see her drown but didn't do anything. I am so dumb.
