If the kid doesn't too heavy, I'll definitely save him myself since I know how to swim.
But before that I would call 911 first and let them know exactly the location, in case we both can't make it - -;

On the other hand, if the kid's too heavy, I'd find another to save him while waiting for the police.

But yeah, I really don't know how my reaction's going to be if that ever happen to me.

well if the kid is drowning in a shallow part of the water then i would save the kid...

Well, obviously if you can't swim yourself, then you would probably just make things worse if you dove in. So it's definitely the best idea to run and find someone else.

But to answer your question, yes I would go get the kid. What kind of person (who knows how to swim) would just leave a kid to drown when there's no one else around? That's just messed up.

I heard that if you are not an experienced, strong swimmer, trying to save a drowning person would be bad (and I suck at swimming). Instead of you helping them, they would drag you down since they are in a panic and desperate to get out, and you would not be strong enough to support them (especially if it's a grown person, or bigger than me!!).

If there is no one at all around, I'd find some sort of flotation device to throw to them to grab onto. Then I would swim out and drag the floaty with them on it to the edge of the pool to get out.

I think when I was taking swimming lessons, that's what they told me. Yupp. I hope I am never in this situation. Scary~!
