ok so I'm getting a phone,
but I'm kind of torn between the sony ericsson w580i or nokia 5300... =/
has anyone had the nokia 5300 and willing to share there experiences?

so I've heard stuff about the se's keypad's cracking,
and I'm not all up for that... =.=;;
BUT
I've also heard horror stories of the nokia's screen
like...uhh screwing up?
cracking?
going blank compeletly?

get the w580i you won't regret it at all, trust me. The speaker on that thing is amazing!!! the camera is really good as well. If you don't mind a refurbish at&t phone, it is only $100. check out the at&t website under gophone.

My 5300 I had, only lasted for about 2 months until its screen got smashed by me when accidentally stepping on it.
The screen on the phone is HIGHLY sensitive and it gets scratches so badly. its so freaking annoying. however, I really like
the music player and interface, because its fast and easy to use. However putting in videos for that thing sucks cause it
always lags.

The w580 my friend had, I think is a little better. Because you get a 2.0 camera instead of a 1.3, it has the shake feature,
it even has this cool light feature that appears to the sides of the phone. It even has cool flash themes that makes the phone better than the Nokia's simple main menu/ Definetly get this one instead. However, I do hear LOTS
of bad reviews about this phones number pad cracking. So if you like texting, avoid at all COSTS!

Other than that, if you can afford the W580 unlocked, I suggest getting the nokia 5610, not unless your signing with a new contract that is.

id choose the sony ericsson w580i
from my past experiences, SE phones are always good
its has good speakers, camera, is stylish - awesome

They are usually really reliable and most people I know have SE and they don't have major problems.
SE also looks better than the Nokia.

i say get the w580i... the nokia 5300 kinda looks like a toy to me, and i've seen too many people who have it already. >< the camera isn't that good, too. and imo, nokia phones are overrated. my friend has the w580i, and it's pretty good. she never had any problems with the keypad, and she has that phone for quite a while now.

the nokia screen get scratch really easily, over it's a good phone.

the nokia 5300 gets much better reviews from tech sites. and it's the best phone i've ever had...i mean it's not perfect. but i can download really cool themes and ringtones, you can personalize it all you want, and the keypad is really sturdy. the music player has a lot of options too.

about the screen getting scratched really easily....i have a screen protector (you can buy it at any cell phone store) and i have no problems with the screen.

my friend has the nokia and she had to send her phone in for repair because the screen was acting up really weird.

well i use it with t-mobile so i never had to. i'm sure you can though...i heard a lot of people unbrand it, esp in canada. do you use t-mobile or at&t? the SE is offered with at&t and the nokia with t-mobile. in canada i think both are offered by rogers. i'm not sure though...
