Hey everyone...

I'm wondering if anyone at Soompi goes to Soka U... I don't go there, but it's on my list of colleges.

I'm looking for opinions like what is it like there, what is the area like, and so on --whatever you have to say.

And can people who live in that area describe what is it like?

Thank you!

Mmm..I heard about this University. One of their representatives actually came to our high school to talk about it.

From her presentation, she made it sound soooooo good! laugh.gif
I remembered her saying that Soka U's sole mission is to make a difference and create peace in the world; & because of that, many people from around the world go there creating a more globalized and diverse feeling.
I also heard that the facilities are nice. They have a recreation center for playing sports, running track, and if you like to swim they have a pool.

The dorms are also great because you have a built in bathroom where you share it with your next door room-mate. Unlike some Universities where everyone on the same floor is required to use that ONE bathroom crazy.gif .
The university has free wi-fi connection so finding reception wouldn't be a problem.
What got me really interested was hearing their bonus! They will give you a free laptop since it is one of the essential tools in school. Plus, after your freshman and sophomore year, they will send you abroad and study in places around the world! w00t.gif

I don't know about any of you, but after hearing that presentation--I was down for the get down tongue.gif I wanted to attend!!! Unfortunately, I can't go there because it's too expensive for me >_< BUT I would like to go there some day.

Hmmm, I don't know anyone that goes there but you can try check out their website and look for past students' reflections.
I wish I could go there though, they have a good program for TESOL :]

OMG! My brother goes to Soka :D
He loves it. And I plan on going there too~

They only accept like 100 people a year.
So the teachers and the students get along real well.
Unlike most colleges, they actually know who you are.

Plus from what I heard from people,
You get along with everyone there.
Everyone O_O

Soka U is one of the most donated school in the world~
It's only been around for like 7 years and it's rivaling Harvard and Yale.
And both school have been around for a longggg time.

It's also one of the top 10 most beautiful schools in, I think, the world.
It's soo pretty there! The area around there is nice too.

Oh, and the food there is pretty good too(:

So yeah. :D

This is definitely up at the top of my list of colleges.
I've read up on it and looked around their website too many
times to count and all I hear about it are amazing things. ^^

Hi, I'm seriously considering this college.

my secret reality, you might be able to help me here; I was wondering what kind of laptop they give you? Is it a Mac or PC? This program sounds so cool, though!

Also, KTZ811, how did you get a rep to come to your school? My counsellor is trying to get one to come, but they don't seem interested. And there are 2 students at my school who want to go to Soka!

They're also doing a free tuition program for lower income families -- all you have to do is pay for room and board, which is like half the whole cost.

Anyway - it sounds really cool, and has a great message.
