Today I dled a stupid software calls MediaTubeCodec and it turns out to be a freaking crazy virus.

It changed my background screen into a bluescreen with a message that says, "Warning spyware detected on ur computer." Everytime I change it back to the normal bg and restart my comp, the same msg pops back again after the system restarts.

It keeps on having this pop-up about BlueScreen Screen Saver Configuration.

It keeps having these fake restarts saying how windows dectect an error, but when I press esc, it returns to my normal desktop.

It keeps on saying there something missing in my C drive evertime I start up my computer.

It dled a fake AntiVirus XP 2008. (that was really hard to remove)

I did some research and dled the antivirus software calls Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and nothing changed =(

It's like the software cant delete the stubborn infections!

Also now, I cant go on the internet for some reason too...
(currently on my laptop)

Can u guys help me fix this? =(

I want to try reformat the comp as the last resort because there are so many files that I need on my computer....

Try a system restore first...
I know lots say disable the system restore in the event of a virus, but sometimes it does a really good job and damages the virus.

Then install Adaware and a good antivirus like NOD32 (30day trial is all you need) then start the computer in safe mode and hope you can get rid of it.

If you know the name, it might help to google it

i think u should try this....download HijackThis to do a scan/log on ur comp (remember that it's only a log, u should not try to change things without knowing what your doing)...then post that log here http://forums.techguy.org/54-malware-remov...ijackthis-logs/ ...it's where they will look at ur log and figure out what's going on with ur computer....

I got a nasty virus before where my computer kept on turned off repeatedly, and well it was a pain in the a$$ ...but i posted there and they helped me to fixed it...

Well i hoped u will find some help there ....sorry im not much of help myself

Edit:: here a way to use system restore --> http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/h...temrestore.mspx

and if all failed, System recovery is your next best option, even though u might lose all your documents and setting....just click F10 repeatedly on the boot up screen

if you want to try a fast/half-assed way, make a new user profile.
control panel>user accounts>create new account. the just follow the directions...
if this doesn't work, then just reinstall another windows on top of the one you already have WITHOUT formating. be VERY careful.

Thats a pretty neat idea! I should try that one of these days to see the results.
