all im saying is, just because some(or in this case, ALOT) fall in the category of wackodudes doesnt mean you have to "GENERALIZE" fans.
every single thing in this world has its good and bad sides...
go to spain dude. and watch a soccer match live^^ thats what you call CRAZY^^;

What? How? WHY?
Well, not all members of the fan club are crazy.
I agree that most fan clubs go way over board, but it's not the entire club.
And even though they are 'crazy', I'm not embarrassed to be a (tvxq) fan
Because sometimes.. if something bad happens (they make a girl commit suicide, etc) it's not the entire group, it may be just 100 people (for instance) and everyone puts the blame on the entire club. But, if you mean that fanclubs in GENERAL have gone crazy, then.. I have to say I kind of agree.
If I make sense.

I do go 'wtf' when I hear about things fanclub members have done to other people (or to themselves)
but I'm just like eh whatever, that's them. Not all of the fans are complete maniacs.

i think he was shot. the fan was crazy. not obsessed crazy, but actually mental crazy. (i think?)
as for crazy fandoms, i agree it's not most of the fan clubs that are crazy, but unfortunately, the crazy ones are the ones that get the most attention and get on news etc etc...

that these problems occur
that the fanclubs get together to boycott a group
u dont see any other country doing that
you dont see some booing miley cyrus/hannah montana off the stage cuz of her pics
and even more
i dont see how these artist "fail" in korea due to the lack of sales when fanclubs are as crazy as this
^
definately
im so proud of the shinhwa changjo members and so proud to be a shinhwa fan
tiff made a mistake against them but in the end they started to cheer for them because of the boycott
very mature and forgiving
why cant all fanclubs be like that?

The suicide of the girl (the super junior instance) was a result of MANY factors added in. NOT solely due to ELF alone. ELF was merely 1 of those factors.
Even before her appearance at Star King show (where she met Super Junior), the girl was known to be suffering from depression due to her grandmother's death and drastic weight loss. She lost 20 kg (~40lbs) in ONE month. Anyone who has been on a diet knows how INSANE that is!! Okay, not only insane, but that's dangerous and deadly both physically and mentally. Even losing 5lbs in 2 weeks can really affect your mental status. She ate 1 meal (one slice of bread and water) a day! Her parents should've done something when she showed obvious symptoms of depression such as not going outside, being antisocial, and staring at her computer all day.
I agree that some fans are over the top. Many immature fans out there, but you need to understand that they don't make the majority. Crazy ones are bound to be the loudest, so they get noticed the most.

maybe
but if it really was just that-that elf really didnt have anything to do with the suicide
then why is it so easy to believe?
many ppl believed a rumor so fake that theres no way it could be true
the rumor about how soshi guy fans raped other girl fans and stabbed some
and yet as crazy it sounds
ppl believed it
doesnt that say something
it says that its possible
it might/can happen and although its horrible ppl wont be that surprised if it happens
that ppl actually think that it can happen
do i make sense?

Okay, if you and others want to believe in those rumors, then fine. But get this, rumors DO NOT make facts or truths. those stories of rape and stabbing will always be left as rumors. why? it never happened other than immature/obsessed fangirls writing up their made-up stories on their own sites. That's why those stories never got further than forums like this, fansites, and blogs. Figures.
You can choose to believe in gossips, rumors, or what not. Or actually do some research to find out the truth. Then again, there are always going to be people who want to immerse themselves with gossips, rumors and stories. And that's what most of entertainment magazines and online are for, right? All i can say is believe what you want. But again, not to be mean, but MOST people just know how to differentiate the facts from rumors

Especially ELF and Cassopeodia.
Seriously.
That suicide was caused by jealous SuJu fans. [not sure if it was ELF, but w/e. I'm still anti-fanclubs]
I really feel sorry for her
edit//
actually, I just don't like Cassopeodia. period. =__=
Other fanclubs are okay [dunno about ELF]

and the fact that its not that unexpected is WRONG
its totally wrong
and its a horrible thing

how SOME people in the fanclubs would hurt other artists physically/mentally just because "they're too close w/ my oppa".
and to think that they have to take EVERY matters than involving their artists to their own hands.
how they think their artists are better people than others, so what matters in the whole wide world is only their artists' feeling..
who cares bout other artists' feeling right? which is even more stupid, cos their artists are actually friends w/ these other artists.
i'm not really a shinhwa fans, but i'm a fan of Shinhwa Changjo.
maybe it's because shinhwa's fans are older and more mature and they've been together for a long time now.
or maybe because they're just really nice people? lol.
why can't other fanclubs be like that sigh.
so yea i just dislike the crazy-obsessive people in the fanclubs.
but i would never never never ever be ashamed of being dbsk&snds and well most sm groups fan

I don't think this is very fair,
to generalize all fans of a certain fan club as the same,
just because someone stood out with crazy actions.
Tabloids usually refer to the individuals as the fan club as a whole.
It puts a bad image on certain fans,
and everyone is human with impulse mistakes.
There are also culturally differences to consider,
and perhaps for some people,
some outrageous actions by certain fans can be condoned and considered nothing,
while some outrageous actions by other fans are considered shocking, disgusting and condemnable.
It's really all in a matter of opinion,
and I don't think anyone should be ashamed of being a fan of certain bands.
After all, you are a fan of the band,
but not necessarily a part of the 'craziness' of the fan clubs.
Bands and fan clubs are separate issues,
so I don't see why anyone should be ashamed of being a fan of a band they like.

I'm proud to be E.L.F., and I love it. We did way many good things as a whole but people rarely mention it, instead they just mention the "bad" thing done by some.
Well as long as Super Junior always by ours side, it doesn't matter what others people said ^^
But you know mostly the crazy ones are private fans (as in stalker, follow the artists everywhere all day long, skip school, wait outside their dorm, etc...), and if they did something bad, it will bring the whole fansclub name down.

It's understandable to feel some embarrassment being catorgize in the same group with some of these crazy nuts, but you shouldn't feel ashame of being a fan of any idols just cause of them. It's just sad how the bad always seem to overshadow the good.

Have you ever heard of the Beatles? Or more modern music history, Dixie Chicks? Because of something they said (much like SNSD apparently), fans DID boycott them. Folks were even more organized here than in Korea. They didn't merely give them the silent treatment or boo them at a concert. Folks got together AFTER THE CONCERT to burn their albums and fan memorabilia, hold protest rallies against them, boycotted them, and convinced radio and TV stations to stop playing their music. For the Beatles, there was even talk of banning them from entering the US and for the Dixie Chicks, they weren't able to get their music played on radio stations and they had to cancel a bunch of their concerts and basically stop touring for awhile. Heck, the Dixie Chicks even made a documentary film about their ordeals that they had to go through because of the "anti-fans" called Shut Up & Sing (2006).
You should probably tone it down with all this stereotyping and bashing of other fanbases based on the actions of a fraction of the fanbase, before you have people turning against Shinhwa Chango or whatever fanbase you are a part of because of YOUR behavior.
maybe
but if it really was just that-that elf really didnt have anything to do with the suicide

I don't know, why don't you ask yourself that since you seem to believe it so easily.
Even in some of the follow-up newspaper articles (which surprisingly didn't get much mention here on Soompi), the girl's friends said the "harassment from ELF" consisted of a couple of dozen or so messages daily on her minihompy, most of them from her classmates at school who were cussing her out for acting as if she were better than them and on friendly terms with Kangin (under her pic with Kangin), but who's to say that her classmates were even ELF members and even if they were, why should the behavior of a few reflect ELF as a whole?
As someone mentioned before, she was going through a severe depression. Not only was she being ridiculed and harassed by her fellow classmates who crank called her, sent her nasty email, spread rumors about her at school, etc. because they thought that she was acting snotty because she lost weight and it got worse after she appeared on Star King, but she was also having constant arguments with her mother over her eating habits (her mother kept telling her to eat because she basically stopped eating) AND she was having serious issues with self-image before and after weight loss. In fact, her mother told the police that the last time she saw her daughter alive was when her daughter was feeding her baby cousin in the kitchen. She yelled at her daughter to stop force feeding the kid and actually eat something herself because she was just pushing her own food around on the plate. Her daughter got angry, got up from the table, went into her room and slammed the door. The next time she saw her daughter was when she went to check on her hours later after she hadn't heard anything from her and found her hanging in her bedroom. Now, was it her mother's fault that the girl committed suicide? NO. You know why? Because NO ONE kills themselves because of just ONE thing. Many factors contribute to someone choosing to end their lives, especially their mental state and chemical imbalance. And suicide is a personal choice, nothing that anyone drives or even can drive someone else to do. Factors can contribute to someone wanting to kill themselves, but they don't CAUSE someone kill themselves.
Honestly, Kangin was a regular on Star King and took photos with practically every single contestant that came on that show. If every female who took a photo with Kangin got harassed by ELF (after all, one can't assume that ELF singled this girl out of everyone to pick on), then why aren't there dozens of suicides reported if as some folks claim, harassment from ELF can cause folks to commit suicide?
