I'm thinking about being a diplomat later on in my life and I really want to know what college major you guys think would be the best fit for it. I narrowed it down to three but I really don't know. 1. International Relations 2. Business Administration 3. Law
what do you guys think?

Same here (I'm actually not a college student but yeah) I really want to be a diplomat when I'm older and everything I'm doing now is for that, and I've done my fair share of research on it.
The major you choose depends on your career path. (I'm assuming you're US citizen, I'm not familiar with other countries' diplomatic corps, although I could only assume they're similar).
For the U.S. Diplomatic Corps, there are political officers, consular officers, economic officers, administrative officers, and public diplomacy officers.
So International Relations would definitely be good, business administration also, and same with law. It depends on what branch of the foreign service you would like to go in.
For me I'm pretty sure I'd like to be a political officer so I plan to major in Int'l Relations along with either a Poli Sci minor or a Public Policy minor.
But like for public diplomacy officers, maybe Int'l relations with a Communications minor or journalism or something like that.
http://careers.state.gov/officer/employment.html#PD Here is a link of all the career paths within the US Diplomatic Corps.
Also if you don't mind, what college do you go to?

International Relations for sure. Public speaking, communications, diplomacy, political science, ethics, should all be in there as well. Being a diplomat requires a lot of politics and a lot of studying.

PolySci major would help a lot.
International Relations of course.
And a Pre-Law emphasis would be good. I forgot what the "degree" was called. It's not a J.D. (which is the Lawyer's equivalent to a doctor's M.D.), but it's just a degree/certificate that tells people you have understanding in law.
There's probably a lot of double major programs out there where you can mix and match to help with your diplomatic career.

Actually I'm not in college yet, haha. I'm just trying to pick a career path and then chose a college that is has a good major for it. I'm thinking about either Management or Political Officer not sure yet.

So if I take those certain classes, International Relations be my major but those others would be considered?
But that does look like a good college plan course to me. I wouldn't mind taking those classes. Do you know any college that specialize in Diplomacy?

Ah, I was thinking about Pre-Law. See I was scared about taking Law because I always assumed that Law major makes you into a lawyer, but after seeing you can get a degree with understanding in law makes me feel at eased.
Hmm, you said double major how would that work? What major do you think I should double in?

USC has a special school for Public diplomacy in the Annenberg School..
it's kind of a combination of International Relations and Communication (although I think it's more communication than IR..)
It's a fairly new degree program, and they're getting a lot of support/recognition from the school, so it's worth checking it out~

You should major, if not a minor, in a foreign language...maybe two.
I know that this will help you a lot later on.
