I know this sounds TOTALLY weird, but how can girls wear tampons?

I want to start wearing them so I don't have to worry about the discomfort pads bring, but whenever I try, it doesn't...go in. Sometimes it just feels too weird and I change my mind, sometimes it just doesn't work for me. Is it because I'm too tense or is there something wrong with me? >__<;;

It hurts at first.
Well it did for me. Cus I was in 5th grade.
It probably will hurt cus its a foreign object.
Thats how some people "pop their cherry"
because it's a foreign object entering you.

Do you know how to use it?
Or what do you need to know?

Same here....
I tried but it never works...it just doesn't go in
And I followed all the instructions that came with the tampons but to no avail
I went through like 10 and eventually gave up =(

I used my first one a couple days ago.
The first time I ever tried, my hands were too shaky and I couldn't do it.
But the first time I got it in, I just inserted it in at a 45 degree angle,
cause I heard from other people that you were supposed to put it in at the angle.
It doesn't hurt if you put it in right.

the first time i tried it hurt like ****
(because i started off trying with the tiny applicator-less ones, nOt a good idea ph34r.gif )
but i tried one more time with-applicator, and it slid right in
all you gotta do is take it slow, and reLAX a LOT!
and id suggest using a smaller one for firsts ;]

I couldn't use them until I was 17 (and I've had my period since I was 11) even though I'd always tried different positions and relaxing to help... but it just wouldn't.

yeah. my friend kindof forced me too last summer. we were going to the pool & stuff.
after a few times, u'll get used to it. but it felt awkward for me & my mom doesnt like me using them so i stopped.
get the less absorbent ones. never leave it there for more than 5/8 hrs.

You really need to relax when putting it in. If you still can't put it in, try putting your leg up on something

Just get the slim-fit ones. Plastic applicators a lot more comfortable than cardboard too. You also have to be relaxed, being tense will make it more difficult.

Honestly I don't understand why some people are worried about their hymen breaking. You're bleeding already, who cares. If it's based on your religious beliefs than I can respect that.

And using it after you lose your virginity, doesn't matter. Sex ED taught me that it does not keep you "stretched" permanently, sorta like a rubber band.

Yeah you're right, it hurts a lot at first ><
Well, for me it did at least... Even to this day, I can only use plastic applicators.
Cardboard ones hurt soo much.

i'm pretty sure it hurts at first cause it's breaking your hymen
or at least thats what i've heard

for me i stand up and squat a little to put it in
& at a 45 degree angle

for the first time you should use the plastic applicators

It only hurt for me the first times trying them because I didn't know where to put it in, and I was pushing it into my flesh, hah.

That's what I did. :x

Hah. I was surprised when it just... went it smoothly. XD

Anyway, I suggest using the new Playtex slender (they come in a box with light and regular/blue and yellow ones).

And make sure you're aiming for the correct... um. Orifice.

My first time was really uncomfortable and still is. It helps to be really relaxed and honestly, if u dont know where to put it in, use a mirror. It sounds weird and kinda gross but helps if you're a first timer.

i think it's pretty doubtful you'll break your hymen just from a tampon.
if you're that worried, use a slim / light one.

try inserting at the angle, I couldn't get it in for days because I was basically trying to shove it in vertically laugh.gif

push it in while moving from left to right. does that make sense ph34r.gif

yup! at first it hurts but relaxation is the big part of using tampons... relax and im sure the pain won't be that painfull and if you feel any kind of discomfort for ex. if you could feel it then it means that you didn't stick the tampon far enough..so you have to fix it..happy.gif i hope this helped..

Word that. && I always put my leg up on the toliet seat
it really helps. You also have to not be tense.
