recently, i tried to add something into my usb flashdrive & it came up with a error box saying that write protection doesn't allow me to write onto the usb. so how do i remove the write protection? i've checked & i'm sure that there isn't a switch in the usb.
it's an ativa 2.0 GB if that matters.

The file might still be open, can you test it with a random file like make a text file on the flash drive to see if it works?
You might want to copy everything out into a folder and just format the drive by right click > Format in my computer (It WILL erase everything so you copy it out first) then hopefully it will fix its weirdness.

Have you tried restarting or trying it on a different computer? Its hard because that thing doesn't have any physical locks

i tried restarting & another computer hours ago. it's not the computer, it's the usb.
#10 doesn't work.
i get the feeling that it's supposed to be under 'properties' or something. but i'm still not getting it.

Im sorry to say.. must most likely there isn't much you can do to it now. How it got write protected I don't know... but the most you can try is to like delete the partitions, low level format it or something... but why don't you see if the warranty is still valid might have to exchange it the chips in it might be dead :[
