EDIT: thanks everyone for posting, i called the sony guy today and he told me the laptop comes with a one year warranty smile.gif

Hi everyone smile.gif

I recently bought a vaio about 2 weeks ago, and I've been using it for only 4 days. I don't know what happened, but when I turn it on, the screen stays blank. I don't have a warranty for it, but I have 4 days left to return or exchange it. I have no idea whether they'll let me return or exchange it. Do you guys think they'll let me ?

Also, if anyone can help me with the blank screen situation, that'll be really helpful !

Thanks in advance guys !

Edit: oops wrong section :X sorry !

Nothing powers up? double check your power cords... unplug pop out battery put it back in and start. If nothing definitely return. NO computer should do that... don't want to deal with it later without a return policy (send it in wait about a month to get it back from repairs etc) do you?

Theres a bar code under ur laptop..bring it to the store..and i'm pretty sure they will have that code in their system and will do something about it.

I think you should definitely take it back to the store. You shouldn't even need to take it back under the warranty. It's FAULTY so the store shoud refund you straight away as it's within less than a week!! (Usually it's around 14 days). I mean I bought a Sony VG11LZ 17" and took it home. I played with it for three days and then all the drivers started playing up. I took it back straight away and the store took it off me and gave me a full refund, almost question-free. Hopefully you got it from a store?

I got a Sony Vaio CR in white last October. I must say..it's not ACTUALLY that good apart from being good looking ^^;; It's kinda quite slow actually compared to other laptops you can get from other brands for the same price. In fact, you can even get a Macbook with a larger hard drive and faster specs for the same price sad.gif

Things I have problems with that I think other people also have problems with:

The built in webcam doesn't work most of the time. I always says something like "Initialisation error. Check that another program isn't using this facility" everytime I try to use it. I have to disable and enable the driver a few times to get it working. I checked on the website for driver update but I haven't found one as of yet.

Also the wireless is a little dodgy sometimes. There's a driver online to fix the bug...but it doesn't detect network sometimes. It's quite annoying.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Vaio. It's so purty! It's also quite light at 2.4kg, but make sure you get a case for it because you don't want it to break do you? I bought a Sony Vaio one..it's really pretty. It looks like a very sophisticated folder..but it's actually for my laptop XD
