I don't see how Thai cuisine is like Western food...but anyhow, yes Thais and most other South East Asians don't use chopsticks unless they're eating noodles -at least that's what I read.
Chopsticks are, after all, a Chinese invention and other than China/Taiwan, only Japan, Korea and Vietnam use chopsticks on a daily basis.

And yes, Thai food is amazing.

and it's a lot easier eating with fork and spoon then with chopsticks...

i dont think thai food is very healthy. it uses a lot of coconut milk and other coconut products which are very high in fat.

I love Thai food! It's not like Western food at all, you just use similar things to eat it with. I love some of the Western foods I've grown up eating, too, but American food can be so...bland, while Thai food is much more flavorful and includes more spicy foods. Japanese food is not really as flavorful as Thai food, either. I guess if you're used to eating with chopsticks only then using a fork and spoon might be difficult, but really I think it's more difficult to learn to eat with chopsticks when you're used to forks and spoons than it is for someone used to chopsticks to do the opposite.
Hey, look! Finally a different signature after all these years!

I don't even know how to hold a damn fork and those western spoons.
I don't think I can't remember how to use 13 different forks and knives.

sigh. Westerners live in a hard society, where you get criticized for using the wrong fork.
