Hey everyone, I'm going into my Senior year in high school, and Rice is my top choice for college.
I was just wondering what Rice's environment is like during the school year. Also are there a lot of asians there? being that it's in houston...
I went there for a tour last year and the campus was relatively empty...

Im going into sophomore year at Rice and I like it a lot. its a pretty academic school but we study hard and then party hard. I like that its a small school because it feels more like a community but the size might not be for everyone. there are actually a good number of asians at school and houston has a big asian community too. we have like 3 china towns.

Mm hope I answered your questions :]

I don't go there, but from what I hear, that pretty much sums up Rice life.

i only went on a revisit tour (like when they invite you back after accepting you). i chose not to enroll there. i think everyone was really really friendly, and really open (not really any cliques, etc, just happy to mingle w/ everyone). however, i did not like the way the campus was split up into so many small courtyards. i walked around campus for 2 hrs. now, imagine if you walked around the campus, and maybe ppl are playing volleyball and chatting, etc, but you can't join them because you don't see them w/ all the walls and trees and they're in enclosed yards. it's sounds like a strange concept and nit picky haha but i think it's important to meeting ppl, etc and the main reason i did not like the school.

there are plenty of asians, though!

Rice University, small prestigious university near downtown Houston. My uncle went there, I have been to many football games there, really old stadium, but its cool all the same. Anyways, if your going to goto college in Houston, goto Rice if you have good enough grades, otherwise get out of Houston cuzz Rice is the only good college there, although my old highschool had more students enrolled than Rice did at the time, so yea its small lol.

But yea, if you have Rice on your resume, you are going to get the job over someone who has UT or A&M on their resume. (which is why they have a terri-bad football team, but the best college baseball team in Texas)

you can tell from the site thats it small, but rice is cool like that http://www.rice.edu/

How is the weather in Houston? Very hot and humid I'd imagine. What's the coldest/hottest it gets?
I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of a train

I kiss you all starry eyed, my body's swinging from side to side

I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else

But you
